Laid Back Deliciousness - Edit
This us a super cute cafe right by the beach. The food is fresh and yummy. They make their own chorizo which starred in a scrumptious burrito. The potato cakes are outrageous, too.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE - Edit
Shhh. nothing to see here, keep moving...

22-year ethical vegan here.

Beach’n is awesome! - Edit
Beach’n is my happy place. It’s where I go to celebrate, when I’m happy, sad, or want to take a guest when I show them around San Francisco. It’s also dog friendly and only a block away from Ocean Beach.
Read moreSome of my favorite dishes are:
1. The crunch wrap. I always get this, and I am never disappointed. It’s filled with crunchy, beany, guacy goodness. The vegan chipotle sauce it comes with is great for dipping. Sometimes I wish I had more of it.
2. The buffalo mac and cheese is another go to favorite. Beach’n makes great vegan cheese sauce, and the buffalo mac and cheese is super filling.
3. The French toast sticks are amazingly crispy on the outside and light on the inside. A half order is enough for one person.
4. The cheezen hash cakes are delicious. The potato hash are served with Beach’n’s cheese sauce. Writing this write now makes me crave it.
5. The black and tan is a cold brew topped with vegan whipped cream. The whipped cream is made from fava bean aquafaba and spiced with cinnamon. I could eat a bowl of just the whipped cream it’s that good.
I’ve never had a dish at Beach’n I didn’t like. It’s always worth a visit!

Tasty but pricey - Edit
Location is great being just a block off the beach and the restaurant is cute and clean for sit down. I love the food when I order here. Only downside is certain things are overpriced and I have been disappointed in the portion size for how much I pay. Go in expecting the higher prices but know the meal will be yummy! I recommend the pastries in the window display too - super rich and non-vegans wouldn’t guess it’s vegan.

Vegan french toast! - Edit
Beach'n has very good hours - it's got brunch items all day so you can order "French Toast Sticks" to share with a friend -- or get a large order to take home (they heat a treat in the toaster oven!). The hash brown cakes are outstanding. I haven't had a single thing on this menu that I would not recommend.

Parking can be challenging in this area - head toward the park and be prepared to walk a couple blocks.

So happy to have found this place while in SF for an early Morning appointment! Super friendly staff and delicious food just blocks from Ocean Beach! I had the hash cakes smothered in cashew cheese and umaro bacon!! Places like this make me wish I lived in SF and not out in the burbs! Same owner as Judahlicious just 3 blocks away, where you can go for smoothies and a more extensive menu.

We enjoyed the breakfast burrito with fennel sausage, the “pancake hash” with mushrooms/onion/cheez, and a piece of moist carrot cake. This was my first trip—will definitely come again! Nice relaxed atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating.

Tofu Sunset Bánh Mi was pretty good. A little soggy on the bottom cause of juices.

A lovely spot! - Edit
It’s so much fun to take a trip out to Ocean Beach and eat at this cute cafe (airy indoor or outdoor seating amidst the flowers). Everything I’ve tried on the menu so far (after three visits) has been amazing! Their drinks are super yummy too. Definitely an up and coming SF favorite!

Decent lunch - Edit
I had a decent lunch here on a sunny Sunday and the place was popular, with a steady queue of people. The server recommended the crunch wrap which was simply presented—with just a dip to go with it—but tasty. I would've liked a little salad on the side to accompany.

Much Needed All Vegan Breakfast in SF - Edit
This place is great. Same owner as Judahlicious. True comfort food and all vegan. For those who have lived in the Bay Area, think Herbivore but faster, fresher and tastier.

The excesses of American tipping culture - Edit
This is a place with almost no service. They bring your food to your table, but that's it. You have to order and pay for it at the counter, you have to go get your utensils, napkins and condiments, you have to bring your dishes back when you're done and if the people sitting before you left a mess on the table, you have to clean it up.
Read moreAll of this is fine. However, you are expected to leave a tip before you've gotten your food, and standing in front of the person at the counter. So, they're taking advantage of people's anxieties to force their hand and increase their prices, and you don't even know yet if you will get your food quickly, if it will be good... If I remember correctly the suggested tips start at 15%, so if you want to leave, say, 10% you have to add a custom amount, which again, many people are too anxious to do. Guilting people into leaving a minimum 15% tip when they are not getting any service is not cool.
Onto the food. Well, it's all vegan, so that's great. The French toast was pretty good, though it was a bit more donut-y than French toast-y. The salted caramel iced latte was bad: all salt with no sweetness to balance it out. I'd come back to try more things but nothing that I saw made me feel that I have to hurry up.
