Stellar sunset view. Ok food. - Edit
Make sure to reserve far in advance , just before sunset. Basically just one vegan dish, which is the noodles. It was ok, I guess - but $$$. This place is really about the epic sunset view, which more than makes up for the limited option.

Food was not great - Edit
View it’s cool, staff and service is great. The vegan option is not great. I thought it was bland. Unless you’re going with a group who wants to eat here I’d skip it.

Vegan Friendly - Edit
Was not disappointed by the rice noodle & veg, green beans, and organic kale salad. Could use one more entree or a veg couple. Staff was absolutely lovely.

Good environment, no protein, expensive - Edit
Difficult to understand how a high caliber restaurant doesn’t offer any protein options. There are 2 things on the menu that are vegan - kale salad and roasted vegetables. Removing cheese from a salad makes 3. The vegetables were delicious, the service very good. The rolls, which are vegan, were also delicious. Our waitress brought out olive oil and vinegar for me in lieu of butter, very thoughtful.

Total bust for vegan! - Edit
My veg family of 5 made reservations (several months ago) for dinner tonight. We were told vegan options would be available. There were NONE! Even salad dressings had honey. We had to leave. Very disappointed 😞.

Decent food, busy / loud environment - Edit
I went with my (non-vegan) family and tried the watermelon salad (sans goat cheese) and the coconut corn curry from the appetizer list. Both were good but the portions are small and the prices are high. We went for dinner and it was very busy and loud, making it hard to converse with our group of 5 at a round table. The menu is very seafood heavy and so are the smells, so beware if that's not something you are prepared to experience.

no longer a designated vegan menu - Edit
Whilst there isn't a vegan menu anymore, the staff are knowledgeable and can recommend dishes that are suitable. Service is excellent and the location is beautiful; I recommend booking a table for between 6:30-7:00 pm to watch the sunset!

ONLY ONE VEGAN GF OPTION as a dish - Edit
If you are vegan and GF you could go with modified salads. Not worth paying the price though.

Best "special" restaurant for vegans in Poipu Beach area - Edit
Although having a limited menu, the menu items available were tasty & well presented. The location right on the water plus a casual, friendly ambience made for a wonderful (often loud) dining experience for that special (i.e., celebratory) meal (& at sunset).
Read moreThey appear to change their vegan entree from time to time; currently roasted golden beet/tempura asparagus, etc.
Pros: tasty, well presented though few vegan items, very popular
Cons: portion size not adequate for a hearty eater, reservations strongly recommended, can be quite noisy

Wonderful Dinner first night on the island - Edit
We had just arrived after a long flight from the mainland, one couple from the East coast and one couple from the West coast. It was a delight to have our first dinner on the island at the Beach House. Although busy for a Thursday night service was excellent. While not having many choices for Vegans, the choices they did have proved to quite tasty. Three of us started with the Kale salad and one had the curry soup. One of is us who not especially fond of kale found their salad delicious. The soup was full of enticing favors. We all had the roasted local beets with purple potatoes. There was nothing left on tour plates when we finished because the food was so good. We finished with three scoops of sorbet mango, guava and coconut which was also flavorful.

Delicious - Edit
They don't have many vegan options, however what they did have was delicious. We had the coconut corn chowder as a starter and the beet dish which was very tasty and filling. The waiter helped us out with our options, including the drinks that were vegan (w/no honey). Had a great experience with the friendly staff and awesome ambience. Little pricey but worth it.

yum. - Edit
Went here with family on a vacation and had a great vegan meal - a coconut curry soup, roasted beets entree, bok choi and mushrooms side and kale side... totally stuffed! (Not sure if the tempura asparagus was really vegan but didn't want to make a big fuss over it.)

excellent dinner - Edit
We reserved on Open Table and noted our party included two vegans and two vegetarians. They were extremely accommodating and prepared to give us plenty of options when we sat down. I started with the coconut corn chowder which was incredible. My husband had a great salad. We both ordered the roasted beets entree, the only modification needed was the asparagus needed to be grilled instead of tempura fried to make it vegan. Our vegetarian daughters ordered a vegetable pasta, which was their seafood linguini without the seafood (it had butter in the sauce). They brought out a trio of vegan sorbets (coconut, mango, and guava) for dessert. Beautiful sunset view, delicious food, great service - I wish I could rate it 5 stars.

Menu seems to have changed... - Edit
We went here for a fancier lunch because of the beautiful oceanfront setting and the online separate vegan menu. Sat down, and asked server for vegan menu. He seemed a bit confused at first, but then went to get it. He came back and said there had been a change in management and they no longer had a vegan menu, it was just the vegan options labelled on the regular menu. Which was one stir fry. So it was a bit disappointing, especially since the vegan menu is still posted on their website. The stir fry itself was fine, and they did add tofu when I asked, which was nice of them. But I was looking forward to having some options to choose from, and I don't think the one stir fry would really make me go back. The views are beautiful though, and it was fun to watch the surfers while waiting for our food.

great food and value - Edit
We had the grilled tofu veggie/avocado wrap for lunch today. Great flavour and very well priced. I recommend sprinkling it with tabasco sauce (provided on the table) for a little more kick. My wife and I shared it and it was $10 with a side and quite filling. The oceanfront outdoor seating was amazing. Highly recommended. Make sure you ask to see their vegan menu which is separate from their regular menu. There was only a few vegan options, but they all sounded great.

Delicious Food - Edit
I would recommend the beach house if you're interested in either a grilled tofu dish ($32) or a pasta dish, aka, not many vegan options. They do have a vegan menu; however, I don't believe our waiter was entirely familiar with what exactly vegan is.
Read moreDespite the few options, the two dishes we had were so good. Even though one was a pasta dish, it was probably one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The restaurant was right on the beach, so it was gorgeous. It is an open restaurant, but not everybody gets an open seat, some have to view the ocean through a (floor to ceiling) window. Unfortunately the night we went it was cloudy, so we did not get to see the sun set.
Pros: Delicious food, On the beach, Vegan menu
Cons: Pricey, Limited options

The Kaua'i Dining Experience - Edit
Our table was 30 feet from the ocean & we could see a crescent moon through 2 palm trees. It was like some movie romantic date. Much of the restaurant is open to the breeze & ocean sound/view & there are beautiful & non-boring tropical paintings on the wall side.
Read moreI had Mango Mama for a drink (like a mango piña colada) - a delicious pre-dinner dessert; watermelon salad (healthy & tasty); grilled tofu, thai curry & black rice for entree (tasty w/ great presentation). See photos attached to the happycow entry.
The service was good. Salad & drinks were priced OK (10$ each), but my entree was overpriced (32$) considering it was only lightly grilled, but the sauces & accoutrements were quite good.
The vegan menu had 2 salads, 3 entrées & 1 side on it when I went (just a few hours ago)
Pros: Amazing atmosphere, Vegan menu, Fancy feast
Cons: Expensive

Beautiful view - Edit
We had dinner here with my meat-eating family. The biggest draw is definitely the sunset view, which was just gorgeous. They have a vegan menu if you ask for it. There were a few entrees and 2 salads. My husband and I had each of the salads and the tofu curry. The beet salad arrived with cheese on it, despite being on the vegan menu. We sent it back and when it arrived again it really looked like they had just scraped the cheese off. There were still little bits stuck to the beets. The tofu was pretty good, but not sure it was worth 30 bucks. If I came back again, it would be just for the dining experience, not necessarily for the food.

Sunset View - Edit
One of Kauai’s fanciest restaurants with amazing sunset views. And they have a vegan menu! Emily really liked the Grilled Tofu and the curry sauce it was served with. I was disappointed with my Roasted Beet dish – it lacked flavour and the steamed arugula was gross.

Romantic Dining - Edit
There is a good beach in front of the Beach House restaurant. The Beach House has been named one of the most romantic restaurants in the world and it certainly is. With it located directly in front of the shoreline, it is a lovely place to have drinks and dinner at sunset. They an open floor plan so you get the ocean breeze and noises. They have two vegan options on their menu. To start, have their Omao, Kaua'i organic baby greens. For dinner, have their grilled portobello mushroom dish. Lastly, for dessert, us vegans can have their sorbetto trio.
