Vegan Prix Fixe

The vegan prix fixe menu was reasonably priced compared to many of the other meat-forward dishes on the menu. There's really just one option for each course so not a lot of room for mixing things up, but everything we ate was delicious!

We went with omnivore friends and the reviews were great all around.

why we chose to stay at Turtle Bay Resort

As others have noted, Beach House by Roy Yamaguchi is open air, right on the gorgeous beach. Our family didn’t have reservations but after a 50-minute wait got a serviceable table at the bar. (We booked this trip at the last minute with minimal planning.)

The $49 vegan prix fixe (fixed-price meal) is lovely and is too much food for one person. Don’t let the needlessly dressed edamame give a wrong impression; the vegan prix fixe is delicious and perfectly seasoned, with each course arriving at just the right moment. The fine rice powder used on the veggies in the main course gives an irresistible subtle crunch that you just want to keep biting into. (See further comments in included photos’ captions.) We ended up taking some leftovers back to our room to enjoy later. (This would be a 5-star review if the restaurant was all vegan. Perhaps in a few years, when eating animals becomes a habit of the past…)

Note: Roy’s is not part of the hotel. Turtle Bay Resort, beautiful though it is, unfortunately has few and uninspired vegan options at its Alaia restaurant and lobby bar. (There was even a dead fly in the “Thai” soup.) There’s a good vegan supper available till 9 or 10 PM if you’ll eat a burger: Try the Country Sandwich (ask for no cheese) at Seven Brothers; it’s packed with a delicious selection of local Hawaiian veg, the home fries are super, and it definitely has no dairy (we had no allergic reaction).

Pros: Exceptionally tasty (and large) vegan meal, Beautiful beach setting, Very good, friendly service

Cons: Have to wait for a table or make reservations, Oily (bar-style) edamame, Has only 1 vegan meal (menu changes infrequently)

Five stars for the vegan prix fixe!!

$49 for the best vegan falafel I’ve ever eaten, souse vide cauliflower in curry with black rice and Hawaiian potatoes, and fried banana bread with coconut ice cream, chocolate ganache and cooked pineapples.

All that with a gorgeous view and excellent service!

It’s a lot of food, and they let us split it.

Try the Ruby Sunrise cocktail! Yum!

Amazing

One of the best vegan food I’ve ever had. Paid the fix price for vegan and had an incredible appetizer, entree and desert. There’s only one option, but it’s really good. Can’t go wrong.

Vegan prefix, need I say more

A pretty delicious vegan prefix meal. The main note through the courses is Yuzu, so if you like a little bit of sour then this is for you.

Pros: Beach front, Good service, Pineapple desert that tastes like creme brule
