Not a Fan - Edit
I was craving Indian cuisine and this place was close to my hotel so I gave them a shot. I was doing the shooting but they missed the mark. How does that work?
Read moreI really wanted some aloo saag. I asked the girl on the phone if I could get it vegan. She seemed perplexed by the word. In the end, they either could not or would not make a vegan aloo saag. That was disappointing. I settled for Gobi Manchurian. I didn't care for it. It wasn't as crispy as I like and the flavor was...different. I also couldn't figure out why the dish wasn't hot; instead it was just lukewarm. I would not order that dish again, nor would I go out of my way to return.

Vegetarian oasis in Eagan - Edit
While Bay Leaf has a typical menu for Indian lunches and dinners, Desi Foods is a South Asian grocery store and deli. Prior to the pandemic they served a $5 vegetarian box lunch, as many as a hundred per day and the deli did not prep any meat items. Since re-opening, they added a few meat items that are the same as the sister restaurant. However, they have a lot of excellent vegetarian and some vegan items at both locations. I typically go for the manchurian gobi/Gobi 65 (cauliflower), chana curry (chickpeas), bhindi masala (okra), vegetable biryani (vegan rice & veg), and their paratha bread, palak paneer (spinach), dal makhani (lentils).
