One of the best around - Edit
This place serves really good food in relaxed surroundings. It is fully veggie but there are so many vegan options which are clearly marked. It isn’t cheap but excellent choice for a special occasion. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful - Edit
Absolutely loved our dining experience at Barsana. The food, staff and ambience were wonderful.
Read moreFrom the clearly labelled menu, the 3 of us shared the soya shashlik peri peri starter, Punjabi chhole, veg kohlapuri, soya tikka masala and butter naan, with garlic rice and basmati rice. A cheeky merlot and session IPA were also enjoyed.
The peri peri starter was superb, with such depth of spicing and flavours, and succulent soya chunks. Onto the mains and the quality continued, with each of the dishes again providing a spice sensation. The rices and naan were also excellent.
In total we spent just over £75 but it was worth every penny and I highly recommend!
Pros: Wonderful food, Staff, Ambience

Very good food, some room for improvement - Edit
Came here with a last minute booking. I ordered the Aubergine Fritters as a starter, they were very hot straight from being fried, came with a spicy sauce and coriander. The batter very light and delicate, the hot sauce very tangy and packed a punch. Only two issues with the dish were the aubergine could have done with being salted before fried and omission of the salad which was some sad looking lettuce with 1 cherry tomato, 1 slice of cucumber and a quarter slice of lemon.
Read moreI had to ask for tap water to be brought to the table, instead of it being given as a courtesy.
The spiciness of the starters sauce lingered until my main was brought out. I had the Paneer Butter Masala, which had a perfect amount of spiciness for my tastes. The curry was very flavourful and had a slight sweetness to it probably from the cashews and cream. The paneer took on these flavours and added to the creaminess and texture. The basmati was cooked with cinnamon, which worked well with the curry. The butter naan I ordered with the main uses vegan butter, it was simple but tasteful.
Finally for desert i had Pistachio and Pan Masala icecream's. The pan masala was something id never tried before and the waitress had a hard time describing it. To me it tasted like a sweet and mild incense stick with an aniseed taste. Pleasant but I wouldn't choose it out of choice, the only reason I did was because they only had 1 scoop of pistachio left and so had the Pan masala as the other. I was disappointed with the pistachio as it had very large ice crystals in it, probably from the dregs bit left in the tub that had partly thawed then refrozen.
4/5 looking to go again and sample more.

Pros: Good amount of options (mostly vegan), Very tastey, Quick service
Cons: Not offered a discount for poor quality desert, Naan thinner and smaller than expected, Back of menu tries to push franchise opportunities

So much vegan choice! - Edit
Amazing food, friendly staff and beautiful restaurant. What’s not to love!! There were 4 clear plates at the end of each course. I could have eaten the 100 of the Sev Puri starter and the mushroom mutter balti was one of the tastiest I’ve ever eaten. A touch pricey but it is Harborne so it’s to be expected. We will absolutely be going back.

Amazing food! - Edit
Dropped in to pick up a menu, thinking about visiting for our xmas dinner... took one look and decided we could probably fit a second dinner in! Gorgeous food, super fresh and flavourful, and nearly the entire menu vegan and clearly marked as such. Highly recommend the 'chicken' biryani and the vada pav (and everything else really!). Scrummy vegan ice cream to finish as well. Cannot reccomend enough - we will be back!

So many incredible vegan options - Edit
One of those places that reminds me what it was like eating before I went vegetarian and every menu had tonnes of choices. There's so much to try - been twice and not had anything that wasn't nice to eat. And as a bonus, it's well appreciated by the non-vegans who came with me.

Not the best value, but great to have vegan options clearly marked. Definitely recommend the undihyu, but not the tarka dhal or chana sadly. Sure there’s loads of great things on the menu, just need to find your thing!

No frills just great food - Edit
I have been struggling to find a good Indian where the dishes are clearly labelled as vegan - here you have an abundance (pretty much half the menu)! Atmosphere casual and relaxed, prices very good, and the food was excellent and abundant. The Patra starter was the stand out dish for both my parter and I. Owner said they will be starting a selection of vegan milkshakes soon so will have to come back and try!

Fabulous - Edit
Love this place. No frills restaurant. Owner is life long vegetarian and an ex- chef. He knows his dishes! Food is extremely tasty, not overpriced and huge portions. Owner happily packaged up leftovers for us. They reheated nicely the next day. The aubergine and potato dish is what I have been searching for my whole life, it was that good.
