Best ramen in Tassie - Edit
Best ramen in Tassie! So delicious and perfectly cooked noodles. If you like a lighter broth you can order hot water with your ramen. Ramen is only served at lunch. Agadeshi tofu was lovely- be sure to ask for it vegan. A lot of their dishes can be made vegan, you just have to ask as it's not marked on the main menu.

Great vegan options - Edit
If you mention vegan, they'll bring you a list of the dishes that are vegan or can be made vegan. There's quite a few options, great value for the size of the portions too.

Vegan Ramen too salty - Edit
Great place and ambience tho. Vegan ramen generously topped but a little over seasoned.

Not much on offer for vegans - Edit
The drinks here are awesome but I was a little let down at how few vegan options there were. Even most things you’d expect to be plant based had to be altered in some way. To be fair, the few things I *could* eat were tasty. The service wasn’t amazing either.

Cons: Not many plant based options, Not the most attentive service

Bar Blah - Edit
If you like getting humiliated for arriving 2 minutes early then Bar Blah is for you. Vegetarians at my table were very disappointed there was only extremely limited options for them.

My favourte place in Hobart! - Edit
Bar Wa Izakaya is such a fun place with a good range of vegan options! They have a separate vegan/ dietry requirement menu which you do have to ask for. I'm so sorry I didn't take pictures because the dishes looked so beautiful too but some stand out dishes were the yakisoba, the crispy potatoes, the noodle salad, the mixed green veg (so fresh with a smokey dressing) and the agadashi tofu.

Pros: So delicious , Such fun interior and atmosphere , Separate vegan menu and knowledgeable staff
Cons: You need to ask staff for the vegan menu

Love this place - Edit
This was my 'expensive' staple I visited every week once, for 18 months.
Read moreGranted, like most places in Hobart, maybe 1 or 2 vegan dishes - period.
They do awesome cocktails, are fast, and I found the chefs awesome and accommodating because being vegan, obviously the odd one out.
Their vegan ramen (order before 3pm) was awesome. Or their fried vegan noodle option after 3pm - also super delicious.
I was lucky, in so far I was a regular, they'd hit me hard with chili and sauces to try.
The team are tight and get your food/ or drinks quick and I would say very reliable and consistent.
YOU NEED TO BOOK though, because as a Japanese restaurant, they're successful and very busy.
I managed my walk-ins because I went between lunch and dinner sittings.
This is definitely a place to enjoy for drinks and snacks, or the night out (if you have a reservation).
Great atmosphere, and some of the staff are super welcoming (including the chefs).
Highly recommend you try them.
Pros: Consistent, Reliable, Great atmosphere
Cons: Plan your visit :-)

Good vegan ramen - Edit
The vegan ramen was delicious, super creamy and bursting with flavour. It was bordering on too salty but I didn’t mind, also was surprised it was spicy as before I went vegan I never had spicy tonkotsu ramen, but not complaining. The other reviews are right, the vegan options are very limited, however I just wanted a solid ramen and that’s exactly what I got😄

pretty good options! - Edit
I went here twice with omni family while in Hobart. At lunch time they serve their full menu plus ramen, there is a vegan ramen option which was really yum! They can also do their agedashi tofu vegan (ask for no bonito flakes) which I haven’t found anywhere else. I went a second time for dinner and when I asked about whether a dish was vegan they brought me a specific menu showing vegan, veg and GF options which was really helpful. Staff were really aware and understood and were able to offer alternatives to certain dishes. Dishes are small and you need a few to make a meal but it’s all delicious and it was super easy to get a yummy dinner without any fuss!

I love this place! - Edit
I went there for dinner with my omni family and I had a fantastic time. When I was scouring the menu for vegan options and asked the standard "is this vegan?" to the waiter, while pointing at a meal on the menu, she proceeded to get me their vegetarian menu (which has mostly vegan options!). The waiting staff were very nice and the food I was served was absolutely amazing. Dinner is more of a tapas style thing where you have to order three or four plates to be full, but it was super amazing. A really nice evening spent with my family. Totally recommend it if you want a nice social time with friends or family. Will definitely be going back.

Very limited vegan options - Edit
This place shouldn’t be on happy cow - there’s only 4 vegan options on the menu ( plus two more that “weren’t available”) and while a couple of them were relatively tasty, the others were bland and basic. I’d avoid this place unless they up their game.
