Good though fairly standard

Grabbed some takeout from here. Ordered the Udon Stir Fry and Veggie Spring rolls. It was good, but nothing jumped out at me. Standard US Asian food. I'll eat there again and explore the other options.

Pad Thai, Oh My….

This place is great. I told the waitress that I was vegan and she took the time to walk me through my options on the menu. I ended up having veggie spring rolls and the veggie pad thai. Both were excellent.

Pros: Multiple vegan options, Tasty, Very helpful

Great Food, Bad Menu: Order Carefully!

There are lots of great options at Banana Leaf, however, their menu only has three labels, one for Vegetarian, Gluten-Free(by default), and Gluten-Free(by request). There is no label for vegan, and most importantly, no label for Vegan/Vegetarian by request! There are only 7 items on the entire menu on the website listed with the V for vegetarian, but many dishes that are not only vegetarian, but vegan, by default(unless you choose a meat option instead of tofu or mock duck) aren’t labeled as being vegan- or vegetarian-friendly or being able to be made so by request. This seems like a glaring oversight.

Further complicating things, they have separate lunch and dinner menus/specials, which are not listed on the website. Lunch specials include a soup, and we have once been served egg drop soup along with our vegan curries. This soup wasn’t listed anywhere on the menu on the website, nor was it mentioned over the phone when placing the order, but was included as part of the lunch offerings.

Overall, I *would* give the food at Banana Leaf 4 Stars because of how good their Curries and Pad Thai(make sure you say “no egg”!) are, but for the purposes of this review I am subtracting 1 Star for the poorly labeled menu and 1 Star for being served an animal product by surprise.

Pros: Curries Vegan by Default(Except Roasted Duck), Many Other Things Also Easily Veganized

Cons: Poorly Labeled Menu, Staff Not Always Familiar With Vegan Options

Very nice!

I had the avocado green curry with tofu and it was loaded with veggies! My family ordered the panang and red curries with just as much luck. Perfect spice level. Really good service and clean restaurant with a calm atmosphere. I'll go back and try something else for sure!

Pros: Great service, Clean and nice vibe

Mock duck is a must order!

The sushi is great, and the mock duck option is unique. Most places only have fried tofu, but Banana Leaf goes the extra mile by adding mock duck to the menu. It's a little expensive but totally worth it. And all the curries are fish-sauce free, which is awesome.

Pros: Mock duck is delicious, Great atmosphere, Vegan curries

Cons: A little pricey
