They only serve residents, so no good if you are not staying at the inn

They had a sweet potato curry and a salad on menu for vegans. But we were told they were only doing food for residents.

Nice views

As far as I can see, they now have three vegan dishes on the menu: a sweet potato curry, a burger and a pasta dish with dried tomatoes and vegetables. I had the curry which was tasty, the size was good. They also have a pavlova on the dessert menu whuixh is labelled as vegan, but I rather think this is a misprint. I wasn't hungry enough, otherwise I woulld have checked. If possible, sit outside and enjoy the seaview. Unless you are a house guest or a group of 6 or more peoplem they don't take reservations. It's not particularly special, but o.k.

Pros: Three clearly labelled vegan dishes, Nice view.

Cons: Serve meat

Not good for vegan options

We walked from Seahouses along the beach and were quite hungry so stopped here for lunch but unfortunately, even though hungry, there was nothing appealing on the menu from a vegan perspective. Apart from a token vegan curry, (too big for lunch and unimaginative), there wasn’t anything that looked remotely edible so we left and, fortunately, found an alternative place with a better menu nearby.

Pros: Friendly , Dogs welcome

Cons: Nothing appetizing on menu for vegans

Vegan Burger

2 vegan options, I went for the vegan burger. It was fine however the chips were very over done.

Pros: 2 vegan options

Cons: Chips over done

Only one main option

The only main meal option available was a chickpea fritter on rice with sauce (falafels) which was fine and filled the hole but very basic and for £12 it's expensive for what it is. The chips were also vegan friendly not sure about the other sides. I wouldn't visit again for the food but at least they had an option.

Pros: Knowledgeable about what was or wasn't vegan frien, Lovely restaurant, Friendly staff

Cons: Only 1 main meal option, A bit expensive for what it was, Basic option

Tasty vegan burger

I had a very tasty beetroot and quinoa burger here. It is described as a 'veggie burger' but is vegan . You do need to tell the staff that you are vegan as it is normally served in a brioche bun which is then exchanged for a different one.
There is also a sweet potato and cashew nut tart that I was told was vegan.
For sweet there is a brownie and vegan ice cream.
The menu did not inspire great confidence that there would be any vegan options for me but actually once I spoke to the staff they were very helpful.
I was told that they are improving the information on their menu shortly as they do realise it is not up to scratch.
Give it a go the more of us that go in and ask the better places make their options.

Pros: Friendly staff, Tasty food, Pleasant surroundings

Cons: Lack of 'VG' on the menu

No vegan dishes on the menu anymore!

They have changed their menu after the last review.
There’s one burger with a plant-based patty and a vegan bun, but … plot twist … they decided to dip it in egg an breadcrumbs and add a non-vegan sauce.

With 2 days notice we were able to order the patty ‘unbreaded’, but received a burger in which they put zero effort. The patty might have been Beyond Meat, there was some lettuce and a slice of tomato, and absolutely no sauces on it. One of the patties was singed. The chips were okay. For 15£ definitely not recommended.

The alternative vegan option on the menu is basically pasta with tomato sauce for 18£ (has to be veganised, contains chicken).

Cons: No vegan options on the menu, No effort put into the food, Rather expensive

Nice vegan burger

Not many places to go in this area so worth knowing about the good homemade chickpea vegan burger here with vegan “bacon” relish, chips and salad. Good service although food a bit slow, there were 7 of us having the burger!!!!
