I loved the food here and my mango smoothie. The best was the dessert that I will have every night now! 😻

Vegan Friendly Lao Food 😀

I had lunch there and the food was amazing! The restaurant was very accommodating for different dietary preferences. There was even a whole page with veggie options. The staff was also friendly and gave excellent recommendations. The tofu curry, surprise soup, and mango smoothie were fantastic!

Not even vegetarian

Requested to make vegetarian set menu vegan said yes. When it arrived could taste fish sauce. Asked for them to make vegan and was told not possible to make without fish sauce.
Paid for our drinks and went next door.

Cons: Uses fish sauce , Did not understand ‘vegan’ even though on menu

I think that really sad for this place, I was exited to try it! Now I am really disappointed, I would like to ask the owner , how can Your menu be so misleading.? Vegan people are very serious , spiritual about not eating animal products . How can you be so dishonest?

Absolutely. When I questioned the waiter just kept saying it was a problem with the kitchen

I am sorry you had a bad experience. As a foreigner living in Laos I can say that "vegan" is a concept that people are not familiar with at all in Laos. There is not even a word for "vegan" in Lao language and even if there is a word for "vegetarian" most people would not know it or understand it either. It won't change your bad experience but maybe give you a little more information on why this happened. :-)

It might have been a vegan fish sauce that hey added as a replacement. It exists, many restaurants in Thailand use it

Some of the best food I’ve ever had

The menu clearly states what is vegetarian, what is vegan and what meals can be made vegan.
Orders the spring rolls, papaya salad (no fish sauce) and the coconut chilli pumpkin.
The coconut chilli pumpkin is the highlight of my trip. It’s incredible!

Pros: Vegan options , Nice restaurant

Vegan menu

Lovely food across from the water. We sat outside and they moved the fan out for us. Absolutely lovely service, and exciting to find a fully vegan page of the menu (5 mains). Got the curry, which was yummy. When ordering drinks, as for no straw to avoid plastic.

Pros: Vegan menu page, Nice setting, staff, Made smiley face in rice, wonderful sticky rice

Cons: Small portions (would have liked more broth in cur, Plastic straws

A lovely lunch

We had a late lunch here and so were able to snag an outdoor table without a reservation, enjoying both the peaceful setting and the delicious vegan dishes on offer, all very fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. This restaurant has a reputation as one of the better places in LP to dine and it did not disappoint.

Chilled location, friendly staff

Full page of vegan options, plus they say at the start of the menu they can customise other dishes if you ask. Staff friendly and helpful, the food was good. Small issue with my food when it initially arrived, but this was rectified straight away by staff and a fresh dish brought out a short while after. It's in a very calm area. Would recommend it.

Delicious, safe option

I love this part of town, as it's always a bit calmer than along the Mekong. The food was delicious, though portions were a bit on the small side. It was so nice having a whole page of items that were labeled vegan, though!

Pros: Great atmosphere, Labeled Vegan Food, Delicious Food

Cons: Small portions

One of the best vegan meals in Laos

A very nice restaurant located along the Nam Khan River. The staff was very friendly and the food arrived much quicker that I expected.
I had the deep fried bamboo sprouts stuffed with tofu. It is served with multi grain sticky rice. It was very tasty but quite filling. The flavours were very nice and it was different from everything else I have tasted in Laos.
They have two pages of vegetarian dishes on their menu and most of them can be made vegan.

Pros: No fees for card payment , Large selection of vegan dishes, Nice location

high quality, nice cooking class

With a river view you can have a great and fresh prepared vegan/vegetarian meal in the bamboo tree. The staff is very friendly. It tastes very good and we visited the cooking class, so we know the kitchen uses fresh ingredients, no msg and they have nice vegetarian alternatives to meat dishes. You pay still nice prices for such good food, so just try it!!!

Pros: very good taste no msg

tasty and creative kitchen

This is a rather upmarket place but it has a really tasty and creative kitchen. Our stuffed bamboo sprouts with Tofu and a spicy sauce were just delicious! In my opinion one of the best veggie options in luang prabang.

Pros: many veggie options, creative fusion dishes

Cons: slightly expensive

Yum!!

Amazing service--fully English-speaking, quick, so kind and polite. Many vegan options. A bit pricey but a very clean, delicious, if somewhat luxe into to Lao cuisine.

I loved the fresh rolls and pumpkin coconut curry. Mango sticky rice was a bit expensive and didn't live up to the versions I had at Thai night markets.

Pros: Delicious food., Excellent service., Clean and beautiful atmosphere.

Cons: Pricey.

Great service and good food

Asked about spring rolls, advised they contain egg and were advised on an alternative (fresh spring rolls instead of deep fried which are pretty made).

Separate vegetarian menu which when asked, appears to generally contain fish sauce, but all dishes are made fresh and were happy to leave it out.

Delicious!

Pros: Happy to leave out fish sauce, Good service

Cons: Got bitten by mosquito sat outside!
