Boca burger. Customize it vegan

Order the boca burger with no cheese and no spread. Vegan, BUT kinda plain and bleh. It will get you by if you need something quick to fill your stomach.

B+ for effort, c- for execution

I can always appreciate an otherwise greasy fast food restaurant making an effort to offer vegetarian items. And bakers has had a vegetarian menu for years, I remember seeing it advertised 20 years ago. The bulk of their menu is tacos and burritos, and virtually any item can be made with their vegetarian meat. I also very much like the fact that they have a big sign saying that while they do their best effort to make sure items are vegetarian, there is meat in the kitchen so they can’t guarantee That items are 100% animal products free. I really like this transparency. it was also very inexpensive. I ordered way more food than I needed since the prices were so cheap. Truly 1990s prices.

That’s about where the good things about Bakers end. The food was… not good. Their meat substitute was very chewy and salty, I truly think it’s textured soy product, one of the first “vegan meats” from decades ago that was very not delicious. Come on Bakers, While I truly respect that you have been offering vegetarian items for so long, fake meats have come light years since then, you can update your fake meat offering!! The vegetables didn’t taste super fresh and the bun was dry and falling apart and had a likeness to an old sponge. The fries were pretty good however. I will say also the staff was very friendly and efficient, while the restaurant was clean, it was very old dilapidated.

Bakers Drive Thru has a Vegetarian Menu

They list their vegetarian options separate from their regular menu. The staff is knowledgeable about their menu items, They answered my questions and they've gotten my order correct both times that I've eaten there. It's off of Hwy 15 on the way to/from Vegas. They have several locations, but check to be sure that they have the vegetarian menu not all locations have it.

Pros: Have a separate vegetarian menu , They offer soy meat substitutes, vegetarian knowledgeable staff

Cons: Don't offer vegan cheese or mayo
