Hidden cafe but worth tracking down.

We are new to Moonah and pretty much just stumbled upon this place while aimlessly wandering the streets - turns out this is our new favourite local cafe.
Went for breakfast and ordered ‘The Local’ which was a hearty mix of house made baked beans, potato rosti, rocket and Asian greens as well as the ‘Avocado Bruschetta’ which also included roast mushrooms and chickpeas. Both meals were filling and tasty. They also had a good range of vegan cakes which we also sampled and can confirm are excellent (my personal favourite was the s’mores cup). Coffee was also top notch however they do not offer oat milk which I found disappointing as it’s my preferred milk when ordering a late. They did offer almond and soy milk though.

The cafe itself is quite trendy and I was really digging the playlist they were spinning - listening to The Smiths while having my morning coffee is a mighty fine way to start the day in my book.

We returned to this cafe another time needing something quick to take away and the chef whipped us up a vegan cheese and spinach focaccia toastie - it was simple but bloody delicious. Would love to see them add some vegan toasties like this to the permanent menu.

Overall I was very impressed and will definitely return to try out the pizzas one evening.

Update 24/12/2022: been here many times since my original review. Still a great place to breakfast/brunch/lunch. I highly recommend the ‘Field Day’ dish which contains mushrooms, truffle oil and a potato rosti amongst other things - it’s my go-to favourite local weekend breakfast. Also the Friday night pizzas are amazing, I’m surprised how good a gluten free pizza base can taste! Vegan cheese is also great. Definitely recommend.
