Quick bite - Edit
Before heading to Bodega, I decided to finally try Babs after hearing positive things. I ordered the Baba Ghanoush to start, followed by the Shawarma.
Read moreThe starter was decent, though the Baba Ghanoush was a bit too pureed for my liking. On the plus side, the bread was excellent, packed with Za’atar—something I wish we’d see more often in Scotland.
As for the main, it was a bit underwhelming. The shawarma, which used this isn’t chicken, and the hummus didn’t quite hit the mark. Overall, the menu felt a bit limited, especially when it comes to veggie or salad options, which was a disappointment for me.
That said, the service was great! While it wasn’t a bad experience, I left without feeling particularly eager to return.

Favourites removed from the menu, still great though. - Edit
‘Babs is fantastic. Service is always fantastic and the vegan options are always tasty. However, due to poor ToryGov decisions, this business is being impacted by ingredient shortages and have reduced the size of certain items on the menu, which means my fave dish is smaller and missing ingredients. It still tastes great, but feels like a little something is missing.

Tasty food - Edit
Perfect for lunch or dinner, great selection of drinks (and very reasonably priced coffees) as well as vegan food. We had the Vegan Shawarma which tasted really nice - especially their hummus and pitta. And the Vegan Gyros wrap - also delicious. The free chips deal with any main meal on a weekday is fantastic too and you really get your money’s worth. The service was perfect, very friendly people and the food was ready in not long at all! Would recommend highly and hope to eat here again soon. Great atmosphere and restaurant is decorated lovely.

Excelllllllent! - Edit
They use THIS branded vegan chicken and its cooked in a way that tastes genuinely real bbq chicken. The sundried tomato hummus and flat bread was no joke incredible! We got vegan chicken gyros and vegan chicken shawarma which both used THIS chicken. Fairly priced. Nice staff.

fav restaurant in glasgow - Edit
One of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow that I go back to regularly! They do a wide selection of vegan options but I always opt for the Vegan Shwarma bowl. It’s served with pitta bread, but if you go during their lunchtime deal you can add chips on for free. The portion size is really good and they use this isn’t chicken which is one of my favourites! The venue and staff are both lovely!

Nice burger! - Edit
They had I think two vegan meal options that are both lovely and then sides such as hummus! I got the vegan cheese burger. Sadly they brought me a meat burger to start with but luckily I noticed before eating it! However, they fixed my order very quickly.

They ran out of the one vegan option - Edit
Not much to say other than we sat down, ordered drinks and food and it was a while into waiting before we were informed that they had run out of vegan kebab. Bit of a waste of time. I'm open to mind being changed but for now I have nothing to go on I suppose this is the problem with having only one option.
