A few decent options - clearly labelled - Edit
I've eaten here a few times and the food is decent. There are a few options for mains and starters and the vegan options are clearly labelled.
Read moreRecently, my partner and I went got some yachae mandu and gimmari to start. The mandu were a bit bland, the filling was sparse so it wasn't a very exciting plate. The gimmari were better, these are bunches of glass noodles wrapped in nori and then fried. The textures are fun but again they didn't taste of much, you definitely want to use the dipping sauce.
For mains, we both got some set meals called dosirak. These come with a main, rice and a few sides. I got the gangjang tofu, this is fried tofu smothered in a spicy sauce. I enjoyed it, the tofu keeps a decent crunch from the coating even after being covered in sauce. It is quite spicy and about the level I enjoy. My partner got the gangjang tofu which was a similar affair but the sauce wasn't spicy and was a bit too sweet.
The sides were fine but not particularly interesting. There was some kimchi which was okay, but I felt it wasn't as sour or as spicy as I'd like. There were some unexciting salad leaves with no dressing (I believe they are usually served with mayo). There was broccoli with bits of crumbled tofu, which was all a bit dull as there was no seasoning. The last side was a wakame salad with a spicy dressing.
On a different visit I also tried the biji jjigae, this is a spicy soup with ground soybeans and kimchi. I enjoyed the flavours but there was no real texture in there.
We had a couple of strawberry lemonades to drink and those were quite nice.
Overall, it's not a bad place to go if you want Korean food. There are a few options so they're making a bit of effort. Nothing here really blew me away and I'm not desperately rushing to go back.
