Vegan Pho - Edit
What a cute place on the main strip. It was a cold day and we chose the Mushroom Pho and Green stir fry with bok choy and green beans. The Pho had an underlying sweetness, like roasted garlic. I couldn’t decide between dressing it with the Hoisin sauce or Sriracha, because I liked them both! There were a variety of mushrooms and all of them good.
Read moreThe stir fry was cooked perfectly, leaving the green beans and bok choy with a nice crunch. The sauce was delicate, but full of flavor. Would buy a bottle of it!
Pros: Good vegan options to choose from, Great staff, Outdoor seating, depending on weather

Eh. Better options in Bainbridge - Edit
We got the avocado spring rolls, mushroom pho, and sizzling eggplant and tofu. These options were well marked as vegan, which is appreciated. The spring rolls were very fresh (one spring roll cut into 4 pieces) and the peanut sauce was very good. The pho broth was good, not anything super special, the mushrooms were solid. Eggplant felt a little bit under. Overall, good place for a group of veg and non-veg. Tbh a bit overpriced.

Best Vegan Vietnamese In the PNW - Edit
I eat lots of Vietnamese food and this restaurant is flat out the best. It has a few options at every meal for vegans. The vegan mushroom Pho is outstanding as are the Mushroom Congee and the Bok Choy w Tofu. You can taste the ingredients in every dish - nothing is bland. The quality is on par in many respects with the Slanted Door in San Francisco. And they have great outdoor seating.

Cons: Only one location.

Decent Option on Island - Edit
We were staying on Bainbridge for vacation and Ba Sa sounded good and was close to us. We ordered the stir fry garlic bok choy, sizzling eggplant with tofu, and avocado spring rolls. Spring rolls came with a peanut dipping sauce - pretty standard. The eggplant with tofu (modified with tofu, does not come with) came with fried tofu which was very bland and slightly over cooked but the rest of it was flavorful although pretty greasy. The best dish was the stir fry garlic bok choy - sooooo yummy.

Awesome Asian-style flavors - Edit
We had the avocado spring rolls, eggplant sizzler, and garlic veg with rice. We did everything with tofu. The tofu on the garlic veg was nicely flavorful. The eggplant in the sizzler was also well done. Both came with lightly caramelized onions. Overall a great, filling meal for lunch! Decent cocktails too 😋

Delicious dinner - Edit
We had a lovely dinner at BaSa - the scallion pancake, dry mushroom pho (added tofu), and sizzling eggplant and tofu. They also have a selection of lovely mocktails which is a nice bonus for us since we don’t drink alcohol. I had the spicy margarita mocktail and it was very refreshing and not too sweet.
Read moreOur server wasn’t totally clear on what was vegan vs vegetarian on the menu. He did say they could substitute something else for fish sauce if needed. We didn’t ask but some of the meat dishes would be awesome if you could sub tofu for the animal protein.

Lovely restaurant on Bainbridge Island with a pleasant atmosphere and accommodating staff.
Read moreLast night we had the Mushroom Pho made with locally foraged mitaki, shiitake, and lion's mane mushrooms! It was phenomenal!!! Also had the Sizzling Eggplant and Stir Fried Vegetables and both were very good.
We showed up before 6 pm on a Monday night and were told it would be a 40 minute wait for a table. They texted with a table 14 minutes later.
Pros: Excellent food, Lovely location
Cons: Typically need a reservation
