Decent Option - Edit
Note: This is essentially a repeat of my review of Mill Creek; however, this location is slightly more vegan friendly, and I will mention that.
Read moreAzteca is not life-changing, but it is a decent option. You can tell a lot of the items are canned, but the produce itself is fresh. The menu has a section called “vegi-mex” with one clearly labeled vegan dish while the others could be modified. The staff usually understand the word “vegan,” but I usually modify it myself to be clear.
The Mexican rice has chicken stock, but the refried beans are vegan to my knowledge at this location. The refried beans being vegan varies by location but I know someone who (used to) work at the Mountlake Terrance location. She verified they are vegan at the time she worked there, but she also knows each location makes them different.
Update: This location is under new management, and I am unsure if the beans are still vegan.
I do not go out of my way to have Azteca, but it’s a decent option, especially compared to the other big Mexican restaurant in the area. There are better options in the surrounding area, but in this part of town, it is vegan-friendly if you want the basics.
