Amazing - Edit
Definitely in my top 3 favorite spots for vegan options. Love how the menu is clearly marked with what is vegan as is and what can be customized to be vegan, so many options. One of my favorite is the pulled oat BBQ sandwich, such great texture and flavor. The black eyed pea hummus is also good.

Vegan BBQ - Edit
Avondale common house serves a few vegan items. Their menu changes every few months, but they always have the vegan BBQ sandwich. If you are soy free and allergic to coconut like me, the vegan pulled oats are safe and full of protein.

Cons: Limited healthy options.

only okay - Edit
i ordered the vegan pulled oat bbq sandwich and shared the black bean hummus with our table. the naan and hummus were a bit bland (i added lemon and garlic before eating the leftovers the next day). the bbq sandwich was okay. the texture of the pulled oats was surprisingly good, but the sauce was too sweet for me. i would not order either meal again.
Read morealso, i noticed some of the menu items were incorrectly labeled “v” for vegan instead of “vg” for vegetarian (the cheese grits, for example).
p.s. there is a perfectly good vegan grilled cheese & significantly better fries down the street.

Fantastic Food and Great Service - Edit
My bf and I were just traveling through on a cross-country road trip and I found this gem on Happy Cow.
Read moreWe had the Buffalo Cauliflower and Fried Green Tomatoes to start. Both were customized to be vegan and were delicious! We also shared the Alabama Veggie Plate and were provided an extra plate so that we could easily share. It too was phenomenal!
Note: If the app would let me give this place 5-stars, I would!!
Pros: Several “Vegan Customizable” options

Wonderful Pulled Oat “Steak” Wrap - Edit
Placed a takeout order today after viewing their menu. They have indicators for Vegan Options with 2 Appetizers and 2 Entree Choices. I had the Vegan “Steak” Chimichurri Wrap and it was fresh and delicious.

Jackfruit Carnitas - Edit
I was pretty excited to see a healthier option available at the joint. I ordered the Jackfruit Carnitas bowl which would have been perfect if the cold jackfruit had any flavoring added to it. It tasted like they just dumped a can of jackfruit in with some raw veggies and some rice. A marinade or something would have been nice.

Not vegan/veg - Edit
I went by the restaurant to get some of the cauliflower wings and was told that they fry the cauliflower in the same oil as the meats. Beware!
