Really unaccommodating and rude

Was surprised after reading the reviews on here. We rang to enquire about vegan options and were told we could have sides or try somewhere else. Honestly don’t bother.

Decent

Vegan, vegetarian and veg option items are clearly marked on the menu. There is currently just one real vegan option, the hippy bowl, plus wedges. The hippy bowl is a salad/buddha bowl with greens, tomatoes, edamame, bean shoots, lettuce, quinoa, roast pumpkin. $19. Perfectly fine, would have been next level with falafel and some sauce (served with scant vinaigrette).

A surprise vegan option

Visitors to KI who are vegan will be expected to cook their own food, however we did find some vegan options in cafes around the island including this one. Though they sell wine and non-veg the waiter and waitress are surprisingly knowledgeable about vegan and willing to accommodate our requests. There is a Buddha bowl salad on their lunch menu, and a stuffed roast squash. They also have fries with tomato sauce.

Not much to crow about but vegan visitors to Kingcote will be very happy to know that there are plenty of vegan products just a stone's throw from the hotel at the largest KI supermarket called Drakes. Here we found vegan cheese, vegan yoghurt, vegan sausage canned and frozen, vegan mock meat etc.

Pros: Friendly waitress knowledgeable and helpful., Near a vegan friendly supermarket.

Cons: Not a great deal to eat.
