Good fresh veggie food - Edit
I went in 2016 at their old location. The food was good, and there were lots of options. The mango sticky rice was especially good.

Everything I ate was delicious!! - Edit
Veggies and vegans are spoilt for choice in Chiang Mai but this place is a must! I tried the fresh spring rolls, avocado maki and a tofu curry and every bite was full of flavour. The staff were very attentive and organised. Prices are reasonable and the seating area is spacious and pleasant. You won't be disappointed, give it a go!

Great selection, fast service, friendly staff, good pricing. Have eaten at Aum 4 times in last 8 days and will return. Have introduced friends as well who all agree the Aum experience is a winner.

Quiet and cute - Edit
The restaurant as noted in other reviews is off the main area so it isn’t super crowded or crazy. There are two levels, if you sit upstairs you’re going to be in the lower / ground tables.
Read moreGood amount of options, for a good price. I got 3 things and a drink because I couldn’t decide.
Papaya salad, spring rolls, glass noodle soup, and a carrot, ginger and orange juice.

Not what it used to be 3.5/5 - Edit
I first visited Aum 11 years ago when it was still near the Thapae Gate & I liked it then, however I really didn't like it when I last visited. Staff were not friendly and the food was only a bit above average. I'll probably not visit when I'm next in CM in January.

Tastes way better than the photos look - Edit
This place was yum son! 10 outta 10 outta 10 & great prices for the area. I recommend the banana, mango & lemon pancake for a dessert, the banana, mango, spiralina smoothie was tasty AF and the tempeh & mushroom sushi was delish! Their steamed dumplings are comparible to authentic Chinese dumplings I had in Guilin. The upstairs floor seating is cute as, but there's mozzies in the afternoon so perhaps bring long pants if this is a bother for you. Very friendly staff. Ask for everything to be vegan when you order they are happy to oblige (some items are vegetarian, but can all be adapted to vegan).

One of the Best in CM - Edit
Ohhhh this place is so nice, I’m sitting here in the upstairs patio area with the wind chimes singing, the birds chirping, and the golden tip of a temple peaking out behind roof tops in the near distance.

New Location - Edit
They have moved from their old place to a new location just near the Saturday market. The new place is in a less busy area than their former one in the heart of Thapae Gate, I hope they get just as much as business. This is one of the oldest veggie restaurants in Chiang Mai! They have been serving up excellent food for years and have never compromised. The new place is nicer than the old one and the menu remains the same. I like it they have a large mix of Thai and western foods and they have a lot of side dishes such as steamed tofu or steamed pumpkin etc. So if you want you can get a meal without oil or fat. Great smoothies and nice vegan sushi too! I have noticed that their menu now clearly marks wish dishes are vegan, which they didn't before. Much appreciate that. Great place. Good prices. Good vibes.

Thai traditional - veganised - Edit
If you want to enjoy local food and enjoy all of the flavor experiences that Thai cuisine has to offer then this is a great spot. Off the beaten path, quiet, with extensive menu. Sit on the second floor upstairs. It's got floor seating and a nice open window. They were out of several things but what we did try was yummy with good portion sizes

Favorite veg restaurant in Chiang Mai - Edit
Out of all the (many) veg options we found in Thailand and Chiang Mai, this was our favorite. The menu had a ton of options and everything we tried was exceptional. The upstairs open air seating is really pretty, with a peaceful vibe. Will miss this place!

First try at new location - Edit
The new location is tucked away in a small soi. Depending what direction you approach google maps might be useful.
Read moreI have been to Aum at the old Thapae location several times and was never impressed. Sometimes I was quite disappointed.
First try at the new location confirmed that things have not improved. The stir fry was disappointing, consisting of only 2 types of vegetable. The sauce was too heavy and creamy for the type of dish ordered. ผัดน้ำพริกเผา that actually looked more like แกงพะแนง
The only positive I can mention is that tempeh is available.
I usually order the same food wherever I go in Chiang Mai. By direct comparison, other restaurants make my favorite Thai foods better than Aum.
Pros: They have Tempeh, Quiet location away from the crowds but convenient
Cons: Food doesn't compare well to other Veg places
