Love this restaurant, every dish is an experience in itself. So good! The cakes are marvellous, especially the berries cheesecake! The staff is super friendly and the vibe is so chill. 100% recommend.

Hidden but worth a visit !!! Guarantees a taste experience - Edit
A very nice but hidden café in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. The owners were super super friendly and helpful. They were able to help us with the great variety of vegan African / Italian dishes. We choosed the Ashanti / Atarashi and the Dakar curry. The food was very freshly prepared and stunning presented. The vegetables and the salad were crisp, fresh and perfectly flavored. The sauce was to die for and the white beans from Senegal were really fantastic. We need more of these kinds of restaurants in Berlin. Ataya is really worth a visit guarantees a taste experience. I didn't know the african kitchen at all so it was very interesting to order a bowl with different african vegetables and sauces. The combination between african and italian food is great. And their smoothies give you enough energy to Explore the city of berlin.

In one of my journey to Berlin I came across this place, that was highly recommended everywhere. What I found was not what I expected: it was better. Everytime I come back to Berlin, it has now become for me a must to visit Ataya. The evironment is warm and friendly, makes me feel comfortable just like home. The food is an interesting fusion of african/italian, it is healthy, delicious and freshly cooked. There is a lot of attention for the details, in full respect of the environment. The owners are happy and friendly people. If you have an open heart, if you are not just looking for a place to park yourself, you will love it too. I highly recommend it to everyone.

The portions were satisfying and the food was super yummy! I only found the dishes a little pricey, although it’s probably quite normal for a vegan place in Berlin. Due to Corona, we were only able to sit outside, which wouldn’t normally be a problem, but the tables were quite low and small, which is not optimal for eating. I ordered the Ashanti Plate, which I can really recommend, but what disappointed me a little is that it wasn’t possible to get plantains on the side. I didn’t want to order the Jollof Plate since the menu said it was spicy, which I don’t like. I’d recommend this place for a alternative and cozy atmosphere but I would probably not come here with my family because of the little space and the tiny tables.

I just registered here to give them a review!! This place is amazing. Loved the atmosphere and the sweet decoration, natural and welcoming. The food was stunning and if you want to give your taste buds something refreshing new - hit his place up. I also had an açaí smoothie to begin with. Even though I tried açaí years ago and didn’t like it, they somehow mixed it with banana and it was tasssteeyyy!!!!! For real, also nice people who work there so you feel very welcome and taste the high quality of the food. Even the espresso after - high quality. They don’t play :)))

Everything was perfect! We made a reservation because we were told that it is always busy which was true. The staff was super helpful and the place is super super charming! We went there on a Sunday, brunch day, due to covid served individually - fixed price, cake included, the same others are having, look around, we were told. Ok, waited for some time to be seated. Previous dishes were removed, but the table was not disinfected, not even wiped! (none was!!!).
Read moreAgain waiting (total 45min) until we got our food (if we all are getting the same why so long?) The staff was disorganised, main dish ok, but really nothing so spectacular, don't understand why the hype.
Huge letdown - instead of the chocolate cake and a watermelon (what previous guests are having) we ( and new guests around us) got served just a swirl (2Tbs) of chocolate mousse (seemed like what was left from cake's decoration), no comment, no excuse, just like so. Cake was a dealbreaker for the waiting, I find it extremely unfair for the same price, and not mentioning anything. Didn't feel the love, just the wish to cash the money. I understand these are hard times, and as clients we want to be supportive, but it was just disappointing.

At Ataya I love the amazing food that is freshly prepared. Plates are prepared with lots of love. It's so colourful and raw veggies are mixed with cooked ones. The mix of Italian and Afro cuisine is something special, not to be found often. Staff is super friendly, helpful and always smiling. I can only recommend this 100% vegan, plastic free, zero waste free restaurant!

Owned by a Senegalese-Italian couple, this special pairing of cuisines came to exist. During Corona, they have a daily menu with a handful of dishes to choose from. I had the African salad which was fresh and filling.
