Top-quality food and Mediterranean vibes in Prenzlberg

Dropped by here for lunch the other day and had some of the best gnocchi I've ever tasted (served with fresh salad
and crispy Sardinian Casarau bread). The place is cosy and welcoming, with a mix of African and Sardinian décor that brought a whiff of (much needed) sun and sea into my day.
Hosts Betta and Bashir were friendly and open...
In short: perfect food in a perfect atmosphere. Looking forward to coming here again soon.

Pros: amazing food, positive vibes, friendly staff

Best Vegan Brunch in town

I'd tried many vegan brunches in Berlin , I can say without any doubt that is the best one.
Food is generous, tasty, and cheap considering that it's an open buffet.
Every thing is home made and with lots of flavor !!!
Coffee is also very good and they have at list 4/5 different plant Milch.
They also do green slow juices and smoothies.
Great music selection.
Extremely Cosy living room .

Pros: Authentic food , Children friendly, Welcoming staff

home sweet home

If the cold of Berlin and the sometimes cruel dynamics of the big city make you feel lost, there's a nest in PrezlauerBerg waiting for you.

With great healty food (african-italian specialitá!)
warm atmosphere
and peace, the peace you need!
(and perfect ''soundrack''!, wesentlich for those ''moment for myself'')

Go and see! Go and feel it!

My favourite vegan spot in Berlin

I am always in Berlin, the vegan capital of Europe, looking for food spots. Today I encountered cafe Ataya and went there for brunch and the whole experience was fantastic. We had a vegan brunch, which consisted of diverse fresh foods deliciously prepared and combined, with an Italian/African heart which just makes it above average in taste! Besides the great combinations and food choice, the place offers proper Italian coffee, a cozy living-room chill atmosphere and very kind and attentive hosts. I am so happy to have found this place, it is definitely my new favourite in Berlin. I can’t wait to join again for lunch, buffet Sunday brunch and much more - they have different events depending on the day. :)))))

Pros: Food, Location/ambiance, Coffee

Colourful, comfortable place to linger

I love this little cafe! Had the vegan gnocchi kartoffeln for lunch with a salad. It was like eating back in Tuscany again. DELICIOUS. I also brought a German friend here recently who has living in Berlin for years. We both had cappuccinos and after taking his first sip, he said, shocked, that it's one of the best cappuccinos he's ever had. I agree because the cappuccino is what I get every time I come here. Plus the colourful mismatched furniture and blankets and the jammin' Afro fusion jazz playing always puts me in a good mood. Then with great employees who speak English, German, Italian... You can't go wrong coming here!

Pros: Great food, Great coffee, Great vibes

Cons: Won't want to leave

I was introduced to AtayaCaffe on a bitemojo food tour. It's a must visit for anyone exploring Berlin. Even if you're a carnivore, AtayaCaffe's menu is sure to please any palette with their Afro-Italian cuisine offerings! We can't wait to check out the weekend brunch!

We have been several time at Ataya for lunch, usually on Saturday.
Habitually we choose from dishes of the day and is always amazing.
Today we had Hummus Teller, African Bowl and Gnocchi for our Daughter. Hummus was excellent, served with fresh vegetables and a special black bread.
Interior decoration is warm and friendly.
We really appreciate the children play area.

Ein MUSS in Berlin

Ich wollte das Ataya Caffe ausprobieren, weil ich gelesen habe, dass es vegan, afrikanisch UND italenisch ist. Also meine meine Ernährungsweise mit meinen Lieblingsküchen kombiniert. Danke!!!

Pros: excellent african-italian food, nice vibe, Individual furniture

Cons: Brunch only 2x a month

Hidden Gem

What a wonderful surprise to find AtayaCaffe .
I ordered the hummus which was outstanding and with lots of veggies (patotes ,brokkoli, salad, avocado ,carrots, cauliflower ,zucchini,...)
My husband had an African bowl ,that was a kind of creative/ecletic mix of west African food. DELICIOUS !!!
Later we shared some cakes : chocolate mousse ,that was heavenly and a cheese cake TOP.

People that run the cafe' are super welcoming and friendly.

Nice, just not amazing.

I was all set to love this place and had been looking forward to my brunch all week. I've heard such great things about it. I was a little disappointed. The setting is lovely, really homely and a bit quirky. There is a great children's area. The staff were lovely and friendly. But it took over 45 minutes for our food to arrive and there was only one other table with 2 customers at the time! The food was really salty and was not quite as fabulous as I'd hoped. The bagels seemed to have been microwaved. In short, if I was in the neighbourhood again I might drop in, and if someone suggested meeting there I wouldn't refuse, but I wouldn't feel the need to make a special journey.

Pros: Freshly prepared food, Good menu range, Nice staff

Cons: Food too salty, Service slow
