A great cafe with always delicious food. The portions are big enough and the ingredients are fresh. The ambience of the cafe is unique and cozy. You feel really good and a bit like home. Delicious and creatively adapted traditional food - Edit
Absolutely delicious food - truly creative chefs transforming traditional food into utterly gorgeous dishes. Possibly the only place in the world you can get "Yassa" a chicken dish from Senegal, as a vegan version. The gnocchi was also amazing. Apparently the breakfast and brunch are even better - hard to imagine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

For these simple reasons: the couple who owns the place is really welcoming and kind, the atmosphere of the restaurant is super cozy and warm, and - last but obviously not least - the Italian/African food combination they propone is different from anything vegan I had the chance to try before (in Berlin but not only)!

Pros: Homemade authentic food , Amazing interiors , Book and couches to relax

Vegan brunch in Berlin - Edit
We went there for a brunch on Sunday. We arrived at 11 o'clock, at this time all tables inside were already reserved and we found a small table outside. If we would have arrived later we probably wouldn't have found a place anymore because it was quite busy. The buffet was more like a lunch buffet with mostly warm and savoury things, only the banana bread and the watermelon were sweet things on the brunch buffet. I recommend it to go there for sure, next time I would definitely take a small snack beforehand because and to take it more like a lunch buffet. I really love sweet things in the morning so for me it was more a lunch. The price was 14 Euros per person plus beverages, for two we paid 35 Euros.

Perfect atmosphere, lovely Café! - Edit
My intuition got me here - ataya Café is now one of my favourite Cafés and for sure a perfect place to hang out - alone or with friends. I came here to have breakfast and work a bit and the atmosphere was perfect. Very very friendly service! It was calm and nice, relaxing music, nice design and very comfy seats: "living room atmosphere". There are also a few seats with tables outside.
Read moreThe food : there is (among many other options) the possibility to choose panini: a whole grain organic bread, organic bagel, gluten-free or ciabatta bread and then to choose one of the many possible fillings. I choose ciabatta and "aisha" (avocado, salads and pesto) and it was truly amazing. First I thought 6€ seems much for a panini, but I could barley finish it, so big portion. Really recommend it! I loved that it also had something fruity(like lemon) but bit spicy, but also avocado and Rucola... Just perfect grilled sandwich. After a while I also got the Blueberry cheesecake which is raw and sugar free (?!) - it was so good, fresh and tasty. The smoothies are freshly made. There is also a big breakfast plate available and many other options. So all in all a very good and recommendable Cafe.
Definitely will come here more often!
Pros: Organic, Homemade, freshly made food, Super nice and friendly service, great atmosphere
Cons: That there is only one of this Cafe😄

Good food weird rules - Edit
The food was really interesting and tasty. I would normally recommend the place, but I don’t think would go there again. My friend who only wanted to have a coffee couldn’t order one, as they were afraid she would eat from the buffet (we went for brunch).

Read moreHi Vorian –
Thank you for your review.
We’re very happy you enjoyed our Sunday brunch. To add a little situational context, we do remember your visit. You arrived with a friend and you both ate ravenously (proof our cook threw down this weekend!). After some time, a third friend joined you, but only wanted to order a drink. Here’s where things begin to go sideways. We adore our customers and work hard to ensure each visit to our café is better than the last. And, yes - we do have rules. These rules are clearly posted outside, before one enters the café, and inside. Our rules are meant to cultivate an environment of respect for our lovey space, fantastic customers and amazing staff. On Sunday’s, due to the high volume of enthusiastic and hungry Berliners we serve, we require (on that one day!) all our patrons participate in the brunch. That’s it. We don’t serve re-heated, mediocre food, trick customers with small plates or limit the amount of time one can spend at buffet. Everything is fresh, bright, organic and delicious. Sit, eat and enjoy our beautiful café for one hour or four! We have no agenda. We only ask that our patrons support us as we support them. Simple, right?
In good health,
The Team at Ataya Cafe

Mind blowing Vegan brunch! One of a kind! - Edit
This was my final meal in Berlin before travelling home to Ireland, and my word was it memorable!
Read moreI have been vegan for one year now and I have never experienced such delicious, flavoursome food cooked with love and passion. The owners culinary and cultural influences shine through in the food resulting in something so unique you won't get anywhere else in the world, let alone in Berlin!
I came to try the Sunday Brunch Buffet I had heard so much about from friends. All of the food was well presented and so fresh. Both the food and the interior is bright and colourful you can't help but feel good even before you've had a single bite. We made sure to try every single dish on offer... twice! We were even treated to their homemade raw vegan cheesecake which was washed down with a 10/10 iced coffee and their Ataya Caffe signature Bissap drink. A traditional Senegalese iced tea made from Hibiscus. I already cannot wait to return. Truly one of the best places to eat in Berlin.
Vegan or not you have to try this gem of a restaurant. You won't be let down! And be sure to come hungry!

The best Vegan food in Berlin - Edit
Having eaten in literally every single Vegan restaurant in Berlin over the last two years, I thought I had experienced everything on offer. This place blew me away. All three of our party whilst eating everything could not get over or stop remarking about the flavours in the dishes we were having. Everything is authentic and prepared in such a fresh and brilliant way. There is real care and love in the food here, and you can tell. They have spent that extra bit on everything to take it to another level. The potatoes in peanut sauce along with the charred red and white cabbage and a mount of cous cous salad with a perfect balance of fresh herbs and zesty seasoning. We had a light naan and thick falafels together with the two of the most amazing home made hummus'. I was absolutely delighted at that stage but THEN.. an Ice Coffee which was put together by someone who really took care. Like the oat milk they had managed to froth it I guess by shaking and straining the Ice. The detail.. and with it I had a slice of thick creamy vegan strawberry cheesecake. THEN had the dark chocolate brownie.
Read moreI was stuffed.
While leaving I just thanked the lovely couple running the place for such a lovely meal, and over a short chat they gave me a glass of Senegalese Bissap, which is like this dark red iced liquid. Incredibly unique taste and super refreshing especially after such a huge meal. Bissap is made from Hibiscus, and its really good for you too. One of the most interesting and inviting tastes Ive had, and I will be dropping in to get one when its hot. Its actually hard to get good Hibiscus here in Berlin and its so interesting to taste it is really suprising.
I cant say enough for the food, the staff and the morning I had there. And I was slightly Hungover too. Literally my favourite or top 2 in Berlin since I arrived. Couldnt recommend it more.
