Favorite breakfast in Duluth - Edit
This is my favorite breakfast/brunch in Duluth. I feel like breakfast can be hard sometimes, but not here. Multiple labeled vegan options and the waiters are accommodating and helpful to veganize other items. Vegan baked goods are delicious too.

Pleasantly familiar, and maybe even better than that - Edit
There's something pleasantly familiar about At Sara's Table, although I'd never been there before. It's the kind of restaurant from the 1980s and 1990s that has a careful attention to everything it does, from its baking to its commitment to local foods and community. In this way, it's similar to French Meadow in Minneapolis, Inn Season Cafe in Royal Oak, Michigan, or Blind Faith Cafe in Evanston, Illinois (although unlike Inn Season or Blind Faith, it isn't vegetarian). My vegan Okonomiyaki was delicious, as was our vegan chocolate banana cake. Both were carefully prepared and perfect for what they were. The restaurant isn't the newest or hippest thing, but what it does it does well. Great vegan options and a menu that should please most anyone. I wish there were more places like this.

Cute place, tasty food! - Edit
We had a really good time here. I love the environment of the restaurant too. Both of us are vegan and enjoyed our food. I wish there was a side salad option for the sandwiches though!

A dressed up greasy spoon - Edit
Our server was kind and knew the menu well—which options were vegan as-is, which could be modified.
Read moreFood was filling and comforting. The okonomyaki was rich and savory, it’s light on batter, closer to a loaded hash down with more flair. Would for sure order again. My wife had the hippie breakfast, sub tempeh for eggs, and enjoyed it. Kids loved the warm chocolate zucchini bread muffin.

The best in Duluth - Edit
Easily my favorite Duluth restaurant. They use a lot of locally sourced ingredients and the menu changes seasonally. They always have a few vegan staples (curry is my favorite, a burger, even okonomiyaki!) plus amazing desserts.

Good overall except the tempeh - Edit
I appreciate they offer tempeh for a vegan version of their BLT and Reuben but the tempeh was not marinated/seasoned so it was very bland and bitter. Disappointing when restaurants don't know tempeh is similar to tofu and needs to be infused with flavor. The rest of the menu has excellent options like a mushroom ciabatta with a vegan aioli , a Japanese pancake with vegan sauce, several vegan desserts, etc so I would go back.. just avoid the dry, bland tempeh Reuben.

I keep coming back - Edit
I love this restaurant and keep coming back every time I'm in Duluth. My favorite is the Thai Curry Bowl. It's some of the best curry I've had. They have numerous GF/Vegan options for entrees and baked goods.

I'm dairy free and it was so fantastic to have options AND the menu was marked with the dietary needs. Great atmosphere. My kids also had a good dinner, and weren't "limited".

Over-rated - Edit
Everything was okay. Service was very slow. No vegan options on kids menu. Waitress said she'd check with the chef about if there was something "gluten-free" he could make for our son. I reminded her that gluten is fine, we're vegan. She never let us know if the chef was able to make something vegan for him or not, so we just shared our meals with him. We ordered curry tofu and falafel burger with sweet potato fries. Both were fine, but lacked flavor. On the way out we saw vegan pastries - a small chocolate raspberry coconut tart and and a chocolate brownie - $15 for these alone. Again, fine but minimal flavor and not worth the $.

Love this place. Cool quotes on the coffee mugs, library decor and amazing food & coffee. I get the vegan okonomiyaki every time and have never been disappointed. Tends to be busy so we try to go at non-peak times.

Delicious Vegan Food! - Edit
My husband and I were visiting from out of town and had our dog with us. They happily let him hang out in the patio with us! That was a plus for sure! We ordered the vegan goat cheese which was like these fried cheese balls served with lettuce honey crisp apple slaw and some toasted baguettes! This was so so good! It was supposed to come with raspberry jam but it didn’t. That was ok, it was still good! Also, careful if you are gluten free, they can replace the baguettes with rice crackers!
Read moreI first ordered the Buddha bowl, I took one bite and it was so spicy I had to send it back! I had no idea that it would be spicy, if you like spice, you will love it, I’m a huge wimp!
The waiter was super nice and got me a new dish. It was the soba noodle salad with peanut sauce! It was so flipping good! I devoured it!
Love this place and atmosphere and I’d totally go back!
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Has gluten free options too, Kind staff!
Cons: Expensive , They were out of a bunch of stuff , One item was listed as gluten free and was not.

Hit the spot after a day of hiking - Edit
My partner and I were visiting from out of town and stopped in for dinner. There was a wait due to the lack of kitchen staff they said. We waited at the bar and grabbed some drinks. I loved the curry and they enjoyed the buddha bowl. We finished the night with a lemon poppyseed cookie (not pictured because we ate it too fast).

Great Service - Edit
We were visiting from out of town and our server was very knowledgeable about shared surfaces and their dedication to ensuring vegan items were cooked in a separate area. She offered great recommendations. This place also takes covid precautions seriously and we felt very safe eating there. Would love to see more vegan options on the menu!

Patio! - Edit
This sounds weird but this is one of the best patios in town. Located in/near colleges, this is a neighborhood spot! They might be overrated but it's a solid spot for a vegan meal. Staff is usually accommodating but I have been talked down to several times. They do have limited parking and ok off-street parking in the 1-2 block radius. this is out of the way from main roads but super close to some fun in-town trails!

Vegan friendly - Edit
The Japanese pancake was like hash browns with kimchi on top, which I will definitely start making at home! It was tasty. My friend had some black bean tofu dish which was very basic & plain. We had a pleasant experience with good coffee and outdoor seating. The host was highly Covid-19 conscious at check-in, which I appreciated. Tables were properly distanced.

Try the bibimbap! - Edit
The bibimbap was delicious. We ordered over the phone because of covid and they brought the food out to our car. Very friendly. They have a garden out back and we saw a cook come out and cut some greens then go back inside. Pretty cool. My omnivorous family liked what they ordered too.

Easy and accommodating - Edit
Items are clearly identifiable as vegan, vegetarian, or not, and many dishes can be modified to fit needs, which is really cool for somewhere that specializes in breakfast. What really blew me away was the desert selection. As someone who's vegan and gluten free, I usually don't even think about getting desert, but the options here are amazing and the staff know what they're talking about when you ask about ingredients. Definitely a go-to
