super yummy vegan Chinese food - Edit
This place is such a gem in Barrie. My family orders Chinese food every new years & we had been looking for a new place since most of the household is veggie. We had fried tofu with vegetables, sautéed broccoli, spring rolls, veggie fried rice (no egg), veggie chow mein, vegan ‘chicken’ balls & a vegan curry ‘beef’. I was blown away at the vegan options. Everything was so yummy. My boyfriend (not vegan) absolutely loved the curry ‘beef’. This will be our go to Chinese food spot in Barrie now. It’s awesome that there is a vegetarian menu. 10/10 would recommend. It’s affordable as well to feed a family of 6 it cost about $130

Of the vegan options in Barrie for Chinese food, this place is magic. So many option. A bit pricey but the portion size works for two people. Doing a family Chinese and game night, and this will be our spot. Can order for the non vegan and vegan alike.

I recently ordered the Cantonese Style Meatless Sweet and Sour Pork, and sadly it was just okay. The "pork" was very chewy and there was just a small amount of veggies. Additionally, rice wasn't included so I ordered that separately.

Vegan friendly Chinese takeout - Edit
We were excited to find a Chinese takeout/delivery place with a dedicated veg-friendly menu in Barrie (where we don’t have too many options as vegans).
Read moreStaff were very helpful over the phone, and it was no problem to leave out the egg in the Meatless Chicken Fried Rice to make it vegan. We also ordered Meatless Sweet & Sour Pork and the Fried Tofu with Garden Vegetables.
They’re not doing dine-in right now, but they offer free delivery within the city (their own drivers, I believe - doesn’t look like they use any of the delivery platforms). We did takeout, and they have a fun set up where it’s a walk-up takeout window so you don’t need to enter the building.
We really liked the Meatless Sweet & Sour Pork and the Fried Tofu w/ Veggies. We weren’t as big of fans of the Meatless Chicken they use in the fried rice (reminds us more of ham than chicken in both flavour and texture). We did like the base of the fried rice though so next time we’ll see about ordering a mushroom or veggie rice instead. Portions for all were very generous - we had 2nd helpings for dinner and we have leftovers to do at least another meal for the 2 of us.
I read on Google that the owner is vegetarian so it’s great that they’ve created a veg-friendly menu for their business and are making compassionate choices available. We’re looking forward to trying more of their menu items!
