Aroma is a great place to go for an inexpensive lunch buffet or more expensive dinner. Clearly marked vegan options and they always have at least 3 vegan options at lunch and salad.

Surprising find in Castro Valley - Edit
Extensive vegetarian section of their menu with multiple vegan items listed. All four dishes we tried in two visits were very good to excellent, including the dal that comes with the combination plate. (The dal tarka and saag tofu were more flavorful than the dal makhani.) Our waiter didn’t seem to need a lesson on what vegan means. Ask for roti bread because the naan is not vegan. The dining room is small but comfortable and bright. We will definitely be coming back!
