Fast food
Small, casual cafe. Menu consists of vegetable and mock meat dishes, everything dairy-free. Food is prepared in the morning and sits out all day (covered) as is standard in this region. Can get busy. Note: Specify dishes in separate bowls (more expensive), or a smaller amount over rice (less expensive). Previously listed as Arawy. Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-8:00pm.

Awesome vegan dish - Edit
Absolute beast of a dish at an unbelieveably fair price. Small streetside eatery, keeping it real and powerful. All my respect.

This place is a real gem 💎
Read moreWe ate here 3 days in a row and honestly if I had to eat food here everyday for the rest of my life I'd be happy!
Buffet style so earlier the better for freshness and options. This restaurant was one of the first veggie places in Bangkok and the walls are covered in awards and lonely planet articles where they have been recognised. We asked the owner for her recommendation (rice with three toppings) and all of it was delicious. You must also try the crispy fried mushroom in the little bags- she said they are a local famous dish. Seriously yummy, really cheap. Staff are lovely 😊

Ah, this restaurant was also one of my favorites when I lived in Bangkok. The elderly lady who owns it was so kind to me. I hope she stays healthy, and we can meet again someday. Please send my regards to her if you go back. Terima kasih! 😊

10/10 cheap vegan food - Edit
Amazing food and super cheap. Excellent for backpackers or family holidays alike. The walls are covered in articles from Lonely Planet where this restaurant has always been recommended. It’s super cheap and delicious. Ask for a mix plate and they do it for you. So so good

An array of heavenly food - Edit
The venue is easily to find through the yellow vegetarian flag signs and only 1 km away from The Grand Palace. There are only a few tables inside, so fingers crossed you arrive at a low hour ;-).
Read moreThe buffet is huge, so many variety, so difficult to choose from. A big variety of mock meat from different textures of tofus to seitan, from spicy to non-spicy dishes, from soft to nicely crispy texture. A universe of flavors.
I can alone recommend to go there often, because one or two times will never be enough to try out all there tasty a good looking options!
And the price is too insanely cheap for what you get.

Arawy is the Best! - Edit
Arawy is one of my favorite vegan restaurants in downtown Bangkok. The diverse menu options and delicious flavors always bring me back here.
Read moreNot to mention how friendly and kind the owner of this restaurant is; I feel like I'm eating at my own family's place. Every time I meet the owner, she always gives me extra treats, whether it's snacks or other dishes. Her children are also really nice.
As one of the oldest vegan restaurants in Bangkok, this place attracts a lot of foreign tourists visiting the city. This is evident from the numerous reviews from various media outlets displayed on the walls.
All the menus here are vegan, so if you're vegan, don't hesitate to dig into whatever's available here!
So, if you're in downtown Bangkok, make sure to drop by here!

Exceeded expectations - Edit
This eatery actually closes earlier than was advertised on HC, so on our second attempt we just caught them and prevented ourselves from having to travel 45 minutes to the second closest vegan eatery. As this is a small business with home-cooked food my expectations were realistic. We ordered mixed plates with a variety of traditional dishes including green and massaman curries and laab. The food was quite delicious and exceeded my expectations, especially for the incredibly cheap price of ฿70 a plate. The owners were gracious and even stayed open a little later for us. Decent food and value for money if you live in the area or are visiting Khao San Road as a lot of travellers to Bangkok do.

3.5 - go if you’re in the area - Edit
It’s nothing special, but it’s also not great or bad. There’s not that much around so if you’re in the need of some vegan food go here. I has two dishes without rice for 60thb. The man was friendly. Food options were quite a lot even though I was here before 6pm (which also means food probably sat there all day…). The crunchy stuff was a bit dry, but together with the curry it was good.

Ok the food is cold and it sits out all day, and the women don’t speak English really. But the food is delicious and super cheap and I appreciated being able to eat somewhere where there were no dead animals in anything. I will come back! And you should too

Authentic Thai vegan food - Edit
In operation since 1983, this place shouldn’t be missed. Look for the yellow J flags, and the sign in English that says ARAWY Vegetarian Food (don’t worry, it’s vegan. Vegetarian is often used to mean vegan here.)
Read moreFor 50 Baht, about $1.40 US today, you get a large scoop of brown rice and can choose three different main items to add on top. There is a wide variety to choose from, plus other items for an additional cost. Even the hungriest person would have trouble spending 100 Baht here.
