Pet peeve= false advertisement

Really don't appreciate false advertisement. Got here at 1:43, drove 15 min to come here bc yes I'm vegan, and Arlo's was 1 of the few options that were open. I walk/run/ and jump through hoops just to walk up to this place and they tell me they are closed.... online it specifically says they are open until 2. Pretty sure in order to keep a business license in the city you have to remain open for the time you advertise you are open. Will never give this establishment another chance.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: The lies

amazing burger

I’ve been vegetarian for over 10 years and have tried tons of different veggie burgers. This one by far is one of my favorites! The bacon cheese burger is ridiculously delicious. My boyfriend had the chicken sandwich. He said his was good, but liked the bacon cheese burger better. I liked the outdoor seating. Fries were good. Services was friendly and quick. Would definitely come back!

good comfort food

I had the vegan Mac and cheese and bacon cheese burger and sweet potato fries. Everything was very tasty but all in all a bit heavy. I wish they had some lighter or healthy options on the menu. That being said, great place if you’re craving a burger.

Best vegan burger I think I've ever had

We stumbled across this food trunk randomly and I had no idea that it was an all vegan truck ...I walked over just for some tots and realized it was all vegan! I was SO excited. I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was sooo delicious. Housemade patty, yummy sauce, mayo, all the toppings you could want plus some really good seitan bacon on there too. It was amazing. Such a great food truck.

Pros: awesome food , good sized burger for the price , food trucks are fun

Delicious Vegan FoodTruck Style / American

If you don't mind coming out here in the summer time and sweating your ass off in the Texas heat, then by all means make your way out to Cheer Up Charlie's, Spider House, or The Grackel on E. 6th. If you are visiting Austin, or coming out in the winter, spring or fall, then you MUST try Arlos Vegan Bacon Cheese Burger.

I took my girlfriend here tonight and we got the following: (1) Vegan Bacon Cheese Burger with your standard pickles, onion, lettuce, tomato all NOT on a sesame seed bun, and included as side of ketchup, (1) side of sweet potato fries (salted to perfection), (1) Arlo's BBQ burger with a side of Mac & Cheese.

The Vegan Bacon Cheese Burger, Exquisite. It was just done perfectly. Made of lentils and other delicious vegan goodness the bun was lightly toasted, the crispy onions, juicy tomatoes, and the crunchy pickles added to the deliciously melty cheese in a great way to the delicious vegan mayonnaise spread across the fluffy cloud called a bun. This burger was PERFECT! With BBQ on the side of course... ;)

The sweet potatoes were PIPIN' HOT and they had too cool a minute or two, but after words they were extremely tasty. I'm not sure if they are cut fresh or from frozen but never the less, if you are meandering out of the bar late at night and you need some good food to settle that last jack and coke or the fireball you probably shouldn't have just taken, then they sure do hit the spot.

The BBQ burger, well... it was ok. And here's why:
(1) It was a little dry. Probably just over cooked a little around the edges that lead to the patty being a bit crispy...
(2)It said BBQ but there really was little to no BBQ taste or sauce on the burger. Luckily, it was an easy request to get a side of BBQ and simply dip the burger, but I don't know if this should be necessary with the title "BBQ Burger"
(3) Good thing the pickles were crisp, the tomatoes juicy, and the onions crispy...otherwise this burger wouldn't really be worth it.

The Mac and Cheese was a 3 out of 5 because it was a bit too oily. I know, I know, this is food truck food outside of a bar (all 3 of their locations are right outside of bars), and that means that you will get delicious grease in your food, but honestly there was a lot of oil in the bottom when we were done. All I'm asking for is some cashew cheese or a bit of a crumble to help soak up some of the cheese cook off.

Pros: The "bacon" burger was to die for, sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection, that crunchy pickle

Cons: Mac and cheese could use some work, very oily., burger was overcooked, no ac or even fans blowing in the texas heat?!

AMAZING!

Sometimes, you want a "not so healthy" burger with the "vegan" stamp on it. You can have it here! The burger was amazingly delicious, even better than a meat burger. We took the Bac'n Cheese Burger, which has homemade bacon in it. The fries were also YUM, our favorite kind.

It was around 4pm, cold and cloudy, on a Thursday afternoon, and no one else were there except us.
The little negative side note is that we said "hello" to the guy working there when we arrived, but he didn't respond...Not sure if he heard us, but he never said hi anyway...a little rude. I give 5 stars anyway, because the food is the most important to me.

Pros: Delicious food, Greasy burger, Small crispy fries

Best veggie burger on the planet

Arlo's definitely has the best veggie burger on the planet. As a gluten free vegan I didn't expect to be very impressed but it is amazing. The burger tastes very real but not disgusting like beef. The patties are made from scratch in their kitchen and use lentils as the base giving it a ton of flavor and making it filling. The burgers are very most but not soggy. The cheese melted on top sells it, though. Paired with a side of tater tots or fries this will be your new favorite place!

A good tip is that if you have a weak stomach like me, get the burger without cheese. That stuff makes it super heavy.

FYI, this location at Cheer Up Charlie's is in the heart of downtown and only has a few parking spots. Be ready to pay for parking, take a rideshare or walk. It is also the busiest location, so if you're driving I would recommend going to the Grackle or Spiderhouse locations to get your food much faster and to have a higher chance at finding close parking.

Pros: Rated the #1 veggie burger in the world, Hip Austin location in between Mohawk and Stubbs, Very filling

Cons: Incredibly unhealthy, No parking, Very busy/long wait on weekend nights

THE VEGAN COMFORT FOOD YOU NEED

We all need those mega vegan cheat days and Arlo’s is the perfect place to do that. I had a “bacon cheese burger” and “Mac and cheese” and it was so incredible and authentic! Arlo’s doesn’t short cut anything; they don’t compromise taste. Would recommend to any vegan/non-vegan. Definitely the best vegan burger and Mac n cheese I’ve ever had! And of course, it is always great to go to a 100% vegan eatery and not have to worry about a thing while ordering.

Pros: 100% vegan, incredible taste, great comfort food

My favorite thing about Happy Cow is it points you to the best spots when traveling. Bac'n Cheeze burger with tots. Definitely not diet food. Could have been worse, they have a Frito pie burger. Maybe tomorrow.

Simply Amazing

This place was really good. I'm not a burger person but we came for my boyfriend and he said it tasted exactly like what he remembers a burger tasting like! I had Frito Pie on their specials menu and it was delicious as well! They had a really good sauce on top. I also liked how this place was easier to park at then a few other food trucks in town.

Pros: Delicious food, Easier Parking for the city

Cons: none

Arlo's Bac'n Cheeze Burger is Excellent!

I visited Arlo's for the first time recently but I have been wanting to try it for a long time. Arlo's is plant based food. I had the Bac'n Cheeze Burger and home made fries. Both very good selections. That burger is among the best I have ever had anywhere. I will try other selections as well, next time. It's nice to have a choice of plant based options. Guy behind the counter was helpful and pleasant. Arlo's is parked at Spiderhouse and they will let you eat your meal at Spiderhouse. Nice ambiance.

Pros: Delicious plant based foods, Delicious, Everything on menu is plant based

Cons: No cons, unless one doesn't like food trucks
