Thanks SimsSimsSims! Regarding prices please remember we are a one-off tiny independent shop and have minimum mark-ups, much of our fare is from small companies or ethical businesses and try our best to keep the prices down. But please keep coming we need you!

Cambridge Institution - Edit
Arjuna is a vegan and veggie institution in Cambridge. Here you can get all your vegan staples, as well as good selection of organic veg, toiletries and supplements. Their take-away meal pots are always outstanding and perfect for spontaneous picnics.

Fantastic selection of vegan, GF and organic groceries with a small deli section. Some products are quite expensive, but they are good quality and the staff are lovely.

Nice selection, a bit expensive - Edit
It’s to be expected from a health food store, but they are a bit expensive. They used to be the only place in town to get specialty items like agar agar, wheat gluten, and soybeans, but that’s gradually changing now. Love their political stances clearly advertised in the window as well.

Cute health food store with many vegan staples. They sell one of the best vegan whipped creams I’ve ever tried, which was Food Heaven Heavenly Vegan Whipped Spray Cream.

Great and interesting place to shop - Edit
For convenience's sake I usually shop at the health food shop Revital in the town centre (which I have also reviewed) but every time I go out to Arjuna I am struck by how much better it is.
Read moreThere really are so many great things about it: good range of local produce, staff who are friendly and clearly care about what they're selling, and really tasty fresh vegan foods made in the kitchen upstairs and which change daily. These include cake, salads, quiche, pizza, and many others. I would recommend getting there in the morning or afternoon for these though since they sell out quite quickly (with good reason).
The only things I can find wrong with Arjuna are limitations that are clearly due to its small size, most notably a relatively small selection. But what they do have is nearly always great-- it's clear it's really been selected by people who have tried the foods because they carry some unusual products which I haven't seen even in far larger vegan/wholefoods shops. I've discovered some of my favourite vegan foods via finding them here! However, if you're looking for a specific vegan product, there is a good chance they won't have it due to the small size of the shop, if nothing else. The shop is also fairly dark and cramped, which does give it a somewhat appealing 'earthy' feel but can make it hard to navigate or find what you're looking for easily.
This is probably hoping for too much but it would be great if Arjuna became a fully vegan shop! It's so close, as all the fresh foods are already vegan and apart from a very few things like a tiny dairy section and some of the pre packaged biscuits etc, it's a vegan shop already. I'm unsure as to how the staff slices up vegan/vegetarian and this is probably the key factor. But Arjuna is basically perfect and this would be an easy change that could really make them stand out as one of very few all-vegan shops I've seen in the UK (and never outside of London)!

Pros: Great freshly prepared foods, Interesting and unique selection, Friendly staff who care
Cons: Small selection due to size , A bit dark/cramped , Could easily be all-vegan!

delicious cinnamon bun - Edit
Freshly baked cinnamon buns on the counter today were hard to resist. They had a healthy look about them but we're much softer and flavoursome than I expected. I have no idea how they make them so great! I liked them much more than typical buns, or those heavy, sickly sweet (non vegan) ones at fitzbillies.

Great shop, amazing choice - Edit
This shop has everything you could wish for as a vegan. Loads of chilled products, cheese, tofu, baking ingredients, cleaning products, alcohol, magazines. The stuff they make is great too. I tried a vegan cheese and rocket pastry and as I work around the corner I will definitely be picking up a stew or similar for lunch.
