Always solid - Edit
I’ve been going to Araya’s here and there for at least 15 years - while I definitely miss the buffet experience, I’m always left full and satisfied no matter what I order. The lunch combo comes with an entree, rice, salad, two spring rolls, soup and the coconut rice pudding (wrong description possibly!) dessert which is quite a value and everything part delicious 😋

A bit disappointing - Edit
This used to be one of our favorite places but on our most recent visit we were disappointed. We got the massaman banana curry and Kaeng ka ri (yellow curry). Usually these are our favorites but the tofu was a bit cold and lacked flavor. The massaman in particular felt undercooked and not very flavorful. The roti was much greasier than usual. Hopefully this was just a blip and our next trip will be better.

Exceptional Vegan Thai Food - Edit
Thai food is my favorite type of cuisine, so I was very excited to find a completely plant-based Thai restaurant. My boyfriend and I shared the crispy tofu cream cheese rolls, the massaman banana curry, and a sweet Thai iced tea float. Everything tasted exceptional, and we will be back again and again.

Bummed out - Edit
We used to love this place years ago but we moved away. We were back in town for a visit and were so excited to eat here again but sadly, we didn’t really enjoy it. The Tom Kha, Panang Curry and Yellow Curry were all way too sweet and the veggies inside of them were barely cooked. We didn’t even take our leftovers home which is quite rare for us. Also, since when did rice with your curry become an extra charge!? We love that this place exists and wanted to love it like we used to but it didn’t happen.

Amazing food! - Edit
One of the best hot and sour soups I’ve ever had, chock full of different types of mushrooms including wood ear. Have tried many many all vegan Thai and Asian restaurants, but this one was a highlight for sure. Mango curry was also exceptional - could have used more veggies but sauce was delicious. Wish I could have tried more things on the menu while I was here.

customer is always right?? - Edit
I went here with my partner, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was nice, clean, and classy. The food was yoga vegan yuppyish and not authentic tasting. We ordered the vegan cream cheese rolls as an appetizer, and that was where my eating pleasure ended. We ordered two seperate entres, peanut curry something and mushroom something. I don't even remember because they both were nothing to write home about. The waitress asked if we wanted white or brown rice with the curry in a way to make us think that it came with the meal, but it was an extra $5. When it came time to pay, we noticed that our meals were listed as a different price than what we were being charged for. It isn't like us to bring it up, but the price was significantly different than advertised. The waitress just brushed it off and said that the prices were the same as they were on the menu, when we were 100% sure they weren't. We just dropped it because it was hard enough for us to bring it up. I would never go there again, it felt like a rip off.

My favorite place I tried in Seattle! Literally everything my friend and I got was so freaking good. We shared the Tom yum soup, green curry with added white rice, and the drunken mushroom noodles.

Get the Tom kha soup ! When visiting Seattle, I usually got up Kati in SLU. But I’m so glad I ventured out of my routine and visited Araya’s this trip. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very cozy. I will definitely want to come back to try the buffet !

Vegan Thai with Flair - Edit
WARNING: check your bill before adding the tip. Our bill, for a party of five, already included a 15% tip. A patron could end up double tipping, if the bill is not carefully reviewed.
Read moreOur group enjoyed the basil Thai rice; the larb tofu salad (huge, fresh, tangy), the banana curry with roti and much more. The food was fresh; uniquely seasoned; and offered innovative ingredient additions ( the banana curry, for example). Service was excellent; the setting was spacious and beautiful and peaceful.

Hit or miss (don’t go on Tuesday or Sunday) - Edit
I have ordered take out from here. Some times it’s great and others time I was not even able to eat the food. They have different cooks on Sunday and Tuesday that is terrible. Pad Thai was DRENCHED in the sauce. I could not eat it. I tried to order another Sunday asking for light sauce, still drenched. I called for a refund this time. I mentioned that I don’t always have this issue. This is when they told me the cooks schedule. I will be avoiding on Tuesday and Sunday.

Great food service needs work - Edit
Small quaint place with a great menu. Food was very good but the service was absolutely horrendous. I was hosting a table of 5 and only 2 other tables yet the waitress just shrugged her shoulders when we asked about the menu. The food was very good. CAUTION 20% is automatically added to your bill and this is NOT disclosed on the menu. Had we not reviewed carefully we would not have known. When we asked, we recieved shoulder shrugs again. We were told they do not have ANY sticky rice yet at dessert we were offered Sticky Rice. In general, this place has great potential but we did not feel welcome.

Favourite Thai place - Edit
Araya’s is always a great offering. We’ve tried a location by university district and in Bellevue too. The people there are friendly, and the food is packed with flavour and veggies! At this particular location we celebrated a family wedding reception dinner - so there are fond memories there 🥰 their Tom yum is so good, appetizers, and noodles and curry dishes. + milk tea! There’s more to try and I hope to be back soon. We live in Bellingham so we don’t get the chance to come down so often.
