Exceptional - Edit
We had a great time. It’s off the beaten track, but we scored a perfect parking spot. The space is modernish and clean. The staff were on point. The food was just extraordinary. We had hot tea, black currant soda, some sort of rich, wonderful bread, stuffed cabbage, pierogi and kutlety....which came with sides of cucumber salad and beets. The dice and slice on everything was so fine, the sauces (esp the horseradish sauce) were so savory and fine. Really, really great. I hope we come back to Pittsburgh so we can come back. More locals should know what an exceptional treasure they have in Apteka.

Nice place - Edit
The restaurant is in an old garage with modern interior. It’s a perfect spot for a dinner date when they dim the light and leave the table lamps on. This place is a perfect fit for young college crowd.
Read moreThe food was really good, although the cabbage dish I ordered was a bit too salty for my taste. Overall, it has a very nice atmosphere.

Mindblowing - Edit
How do they do it? How do they have this quality of umami-rich, unique, magical, lovingly thought out, authentic food for those reasonable prices? I just shake my head. EAT HERE.

Amazing!! All vegan polish restaurant - Edit
So luckily I went with a friend and we tried like 5 things on the menu, the stuffed cabbage was hands down the best. The sauce it comes in is unbelievable. The pierogis were also delicious but I didn’t like the horseradish sauce that came on top. We also got the “special sandwich”, and both of the desserts, the poppyseed cake and the apple tart, both delicious. Cute restaurant, nice music and atmosphere and unique dishes as well as cocktails

Incredible food & drinks - Edit
We were really looking forward to dining at Apteka during our trip to Pittsburgh and it did not disappoint! We arrived a bit after 5PM on Saturday and it was already getting busy. The girl at the front was very friendly, and helped us with the menu.
Read moreWe ordered the kanapki, pierogi, and an amazing roasted eggplant sandwich that was on special that evening, as well as the Slivovitz and rosehip cocktail and an iced tea. Everything was incredibly delicious, with flavours that you don't often encounter in vegan cuisine. The sandwich was particularly good - the bread was really nice and soft, so it was satisfying without being too filling.
Given the amount of food we ordered, the bill was very reasonable. Would love to come back next time we're in Pittsburgh.

Amazing! - Edit
This is really an amazing restaurant, all vegan. If you thought Polish food was all potatoes and kielbasa, you’ll be surprised by the varied menu and creative takes on traditional dishes. A beet and yogurt chilled soup for starters, potato dumplings with braised greens and a lima-bean sauce, pierogis filled with sauerkraut or smoked cabbage, served with beet chutney and cucumber salad — all delicious. Several items are gluten-free. Beer and wine are available. Pleasant staff.

Among the most perfect vegan places I've eaten. We had the pierogies, celeriac schnitzel, and salad #2. Subtle, flavorful, and utterly unique.

Fancy, Hip, Delicious - Edit
If we hadn't gone there with my wife's aunt and uncle, we would have been the oldest, least cool people in the building. We tried some pierogies, a puree of beans, and an apple tart. Everything tasted amazing and was beautifully presented. You order at the counter, so it was all served very quickly as well. Would definitely go back.

Outstanding Vegan in PIttsburgh - Edit
We had a terrific all-vegan dinner. Appetizer plate, stuffed cabbage, drinks, and two excellent desserts. Staff was very attentive but not cloying. We ate at several vegan establishments over a two-day period, and this was our favorite.

Vegan polish food - Edit
I came to PA for a work trip and decided to make it fun by going to Apteka. I am polish and have been vegan for 11 years and this is the first vegan polish restaurant I found. I ordered several dishes so I could try them all and they were all spot on! I generally love cooking more than eating out but this place is to die for. Fresh, flavorful food.

The food was delicious! The atmosphere was superb! Restaurant is clean and the menu is simple, yet plentiful. You order up front, pick a table, and the food comes to you. For any vegans in Pittsburgh, or traveling through, this place is a must! Even my non-vegan boyfriend who loathes sour cream actually liked the topping on the salad! Will definitely be coming back!
