One of the very best vegan restaurants I have ever been to. If it’s an experience and offers really unique blend of flavors, so savory yet so sweet and just something you do not get a lot in typical vegan restaurants. Absolute recommendation, I will be back!!

Great food with a cafe style ordering system. On Friday - Sunday you can get their full menu of food and order it up at the bar. You will be able to keep a tan open to order more food at any time. The service is incredible and food is cooked and served very quickly. Menu is Eastern European style. I had pickle soup, a polish delicacy and it wasn’t overpowering. My favorite dish was the fried potatoes pancakes and small plate of the sprout salad!

There are no words-you must try their delicious vegan food that is heavily influenced by the cuisines of Central, Eastern and even Southeastern Europe. Amazing restaurant, food and service are impeccable and you will enjoy the atmosphere of this special restaurant. I still miss it so much!

Wow. What a feast we had at Apteka. Eating here was like taking your tastebuds on a classy, Eastern European vacation. I would eat here every day if I lived that type of luxury. Don’t sleep on Apteka! Do, however, be prepared for a length wait without a reservation. It’s well worth it though

We unfortunately could not make reservations for two and took our chances on a walk-in basis. It was very busy but the staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming and allowed us to order wine while we waited for a table. Our meals were flavorful - everything we tried was fantastic. I'm from out of state, but will definitely add this to my list of places to return to when in Pittsburgh!

Amazing, creative Polish dishes - Edit
I grew up in a super slavic part of Central PA, and this place really sends me back to some of the flavors of my youth but in a perfected way. Every course, cocktails included, blew me away. I’ll be coming here every Pittsburgh trip from now on.

This is by far my favorite restaurant.

Have you eaten a flower today? We did. A sunflower! Along with vegan pierogis and dumplings. The staff were very helpful, and they accommodate all types of food sensitivities. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to get there right when they open as the tables fill up fast.

This was a great find! They were very covid safe, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. They shared their recommendations and information about ingredients. The food is super fresh and perfectly seasoned. We ordered a combo of freshly made pirogies and some cauliflower bread portobello sandwiches. It was worth every penny. Went for dinner with friends and we tried most of the menu. Everything was incredible. I don’t love the “order at a counter when you walk in the door” process but it works here — mainly because even if you panic and rush your order, you’ll still get an incredible meal!

The vegan polish food options at Apteka are delicious! I had the pierogi and the cauliflower stew and loved both of them. I also tried an excellent orange wine cocktail. The staff were friendly and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere!

Stopped into town and saw a vegan restaurant with pirogies and had to stop. Delicious!! The pirogies were crispy, full, and with so many delicious toppings to pair with it. We tried several dishes and all were fantastic, notably the danish. Fairly priced and so surprisingly vegan that I had to double check it was all dairy and egg free.

We got the sampler and the sandwich from the take out menu. The sandwich was really good and so was one of the two types of pirogies. The sample was alright. The cake and ice cream were excellent.

I have travelled near and far and never been to something quite like this place. Hip, trendy, amazing food, reasonable portions. After trying everything my faves were the stuffed cabbage and pierogi, but you can’t go wrong here.

I bring all my out of town friends here. The menu is mostly dishes where you can’t tell they’ve been veganized - not much fake meat, just great dishes where the meat doesn’t seem to be a central part of the deliciousness. Non-vegans are always impressed. Vegans- well, it’s a local staple for us.
