The strawberry rhubarb filling was flavorful, but the crust was very boring, the pie crust cookie kind of tasted like a shortbread cookie with sugar on it, nothing special.

The traditional apple pie and the pie crust cookies are vegan. There are some lunch items that also looked like they could be made vegan but we stuck with the treats. Apple pie was great. Pie crust cookies were good - just like you would make at home with extra pie crust sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon.

This is a great place with many vegan pie options. You have to ask because the vegan options are not listed on the menu. Also, make sure to get the pie crust cookies- incredible! I wish they shipped!

Apple Alley - Edit
Went here on a Sunday, just after a snowfall in Julian, and boy was it crowded! There was a line out the door and down the street. It took us about 45 minutes of standing in line to order. I was surprised that they had so many vegan pies- the classic pie was vegan, the sugar free pie, and the strawberry rhubarb. They do not have vegan ice cream, unfortunately, so no a la mode options for vegans. The pie was really yummy, the filling was by far the best part. I have to say, the crust was a little lacking in flavor but it was still good. It was worth the wait!
