They had a lot of options and are very vegan friendly, but just make sure you specify vegan

Discretely vegan-minded authentic Italian food.

As a small place in a strip mall, with such traditional decor and atmosphere, and several very old and manly dudes working inside, I never could have imagined this place to be as vegan-friendly as it turned out to be. It was a little pricey, but fancy schmancy vegan Italian food is hard to come by.

My partner and I shared a bunch. Tara chose the “Paul McCartney”, which was baked tofu with portabella mushrooms and marinara with soy mozzarella and spinach and a side of gluten-free pasta. I got the chicken parm florentine with spinach, marinara, soy mozzarella, and a side of gluten-free pasta. We also shared a small gluten-free pizza topped in the soy mozzarella, pepperoni, and sausage. Our waitress and the old Italian guy running the place were really accommodating and patient with all of our annoying questions and special requests.

As a dirty Italian, I thought it was some of the best cheese and marinara I’ve had. The rice-based gluten-free pasta was indistinguishable from gluten pasta. The meats were very authentic, especially the sausage crumbles on the pizza. I even had moments of doubt in the vegan status of some things. Don’t overlook this place!

Pros: Very vegan and gluten-free accessible, Laid back atmosphere, Staff fully prepared for your annoying questions

Cons: Kinda pricy

Mamma Mia!

Italian food has always been one of my fave cuisines. Since going vegan I usually have to make it at home. Antipasto has become our favorite special event place. We take our Omni friends here all the time and everyone always loves it.

My fave is the eggplant parm with plenty of melty vegan cheese. My husband likes the chick’n parm. The garlic bread is divine. As they are also a wine bar, their selections are great.

I once had some linguine and it was swimming in oil. I know some restaurants do serve it like that but I’m not a fan. I just made a point to asking for minimal oil next time.

I’m taking one star away because as of our last visit, they *really* need to up their game in the vegan deserts dept.

This restaurant is mostly geared towards vegetarians but there are plenty of vegan option and they do carry vegan cheeses. I love the vegan chicken parm!!! They are well known for their pizzas (which can be made vegan) Servers are super accommodating and knowledgeable because they definitely get a lot of vegans

Pros: Knowledgeable , Amazing food

Lovely little Italian cafe

We had a great dinner here, the waitress was vegan and went to double check when she didn’t know answer to questions. The pizza was really very good, their vegan cheese option was Teese, and had great flavor. We dined with omnivore friends and everyone was happy and wants to go back soon. Great beer options.

Pros: Flexible with vegan options, Flavorful food, Nice ambience

Cons: A bit pricey, Menu doesn’t clearly identify vegan options

A tasty Italian Veg Restaurant - now accepts Credit Cards

My wife and I are regulars at Antipastos, it's our favorite restaurant. I am vegan and they happily accommodate me. The food is very tasty, a bit expensive, but worth it. It's Italian food, but there are some really great dishes that you will not find at a typical Italian restaurant.

They have a huge wine selection, their wine bar is excellent and Steve, the owner, knows his wine.

They moved to a brand new building about 2 years go, same basic location. They do serve real meat balls, everything else is vegetarian. They are located in a very "meaty" community so I understand the compromise.

They now accept credit cards. For years they would not, but with the move they began accepting CCs.
Their pizza is delicious, they will do vegan pizza if you ask and use a really good vegan cheese.

Pros: Very Tasty Food

not worth it

Over priced, mediocre service, and food was meh.
My pasta primavera ($18.95) was bland, and the bread was borderline stale. I ordered vegan sausage as a side which was also bland. The best part of my meal was on the specials- a spinach salad with sautéed mushrooms and veggie bacon. They didn't show the price- I should have asked because it was $11.75 for a SMALL SALAD! To add insult to my $41.79 bill they charged me $2.00 for a small amount of soy parm for my pasta! Seriously- if you go bring plenty of cash and don't expect a great experience for the money.

Pros: portions were ample.

Cons: cash only for such an expensive place

Loved it!

In town for a wedding, I found Antipasto's on HappyCow and thought we would give it a try. Our server was very nice and helpful. I am a vegan chef and somewhat hard to please and we thought the food was excellent. The ambiance reminds me of Frank Sinantra's favorite Italian restaurant t in Hoboken.

Pros: Great food

Cons: Cash and check only

Ehhh...

Nothing to rave about. The food was alright, but the price was not justifiable at all. It was also so dark! The service wasn't great either. I do not think I will be going back

Pros: Veg options

Cons: Expensive, Mediocre food

Delicious and Inventive

On the numerous occasions when I've eaten at Antipasto's I have had excellent, attentive service. There is a great selection of food and wine and desserts. There are few vegetarian restaurants of this quality and inventiveness in the Capital region. More expensive than most, but you pay for quality, and I'm willing to pay for the food and the service.

Pros: healthy & delicious food, stellar wine list, attentive service

Cons: cash only

Oh. What a funny review? comment? from Exit. Do you question every 5 star review? Lol. For the record, yes, I did join Happy Cow AND write the review for this restaurant on the same day! Omg! I came back today to Happy Cow, 13 yrs later, wondering if/ hoping that this lovely restaurant was still in operation and I'm so glad to see it is. I no longer live in the region but was so appreciative that when I lived there I could enjoy a delicious veg meal in the region, just like the carnivores get to ALL THE TIME. Bravo, Antipasto's! Keep doing your thing.
