Outstanding veg Indian buffet

Delicious food and well worth a visit. Simple but flavour packed Indian veg food with staff who were very helpful to ensure everything I ate was vegan. Payment is by donation but please give generously as all of the staff are volunteers and the food is wonderful!

Fresh and delicious pay as you want food

Annalakshmi restaurants are at different locations in Malaysia (Penang, Malacca, KL and JB) and also in Singapore and even in Australia (Perth). I really like their concept: take as you want, pay as you wish. The food is always very good. So tasty! There are always so many choices and you always leave with too much food in your belly. I think everyone should try this place once!

Excellent establishment

Annalakshmi in Johor Bahru is the first one of the group that we tried. All the dishes that day were vegan, except for one, so there was plenty to eat. As chefs are volunteers, I guess it change from day to day. Actually, there is no menu.
The man that welcomed us was very nice and gave us advices on what to eat with what.
The food was good, no too spicy, and really tasty.
The location is nice, near the JB Sentral and an area where there are things to see.
Finally but not the least, there is no fixed price so you pay what you think it deserves.

Pros: Tasty and welcomy, Good location, Cheap

Cons: For vegans, it can vary a lot

Not vegan but decent vegetarian

This is one of the 4 Annalakshmi restaurants we've visited in Malaysia and Singapore. First, please note, many items have dairy and are not vegan. Different modus operandi from the KL one. More limited bread selection. Not as spic and span as the KL one either, but food ok. If you're a connoisseur of indian food you might be disappointed, but if you're just looking for a decent, inexpensive (pay as you wish) place in JB, this is the spot for you.

Pros: cheap

Cons: could be cleaner, limited bread selection, few vegan options
