Duur en matige vegan opties - Edit
Volgens de menukaart kunnen alle pancakes vegan worden bereid, maar dit geldt alleen voor de pancakes zelf; er is geen vervanging voor de toppings. Er wordt ook 2 euro gerekend om de pancakes vegan te bereiden, dit stond volgens mij niet op de menukaart. De pancakes waren lekker, maar ik vond bijna 17 euro (veganistisch dus bijna 19 euro) wel erg veel voor 3 pancakes met een paar toppings erop.

Nice pancakes, barely any vegan options - Edit
Appreciate them having vegan pancakes, but they should specify if you ask if they can ‘veganise’ something they just take off all of the non vegan stuff. I ordered something chocolate and banana (choco nut in the menu). Asked if that could be made vegan. They said no problem. Only for it to come without chocolate (because the only chocolate they have is Nutella apparently) and any of the other stuff. And they still charged me the full amazing and the vegan sur charge. For pancakes either some banana fruit and maple syrup. €18,90!!

Nice vegan pancakes - Edit
The vegan bavarian apple pancakes were really great! Sad tho that the brownie is left out instead of replaced, regardless very tasty pancakes. A bit extreme to pay €1 extra for oat milk in the coffee, (and €2 to make the pancakes vegan) but at least the option is there!

Vandaag heerlijk geluncht met vegan pancakes met appel en aardbei. Leuk zaakje vlakbij station. We hadden geluk dat er nog een tafeltje vrij was, want bijna alles was gereserveerd. En dat voor de woensdag na kerst. Aanrader.

Friendly staff, good food and comfortable seating - Edit
This was my first time lunching alone and when I got inside I was greeted by a friendly girl who got me to a nice cozy corner of the cafe. The menu is extensive and very suitable for vegans!

It was a good experience and next time I'm in Utrecht I'll visit again 💖

Delicious vegan pancakes - Edit
Comfy and cozy place with a lot of pancake choices. They can all be made vegan, gluten free. In summer they have a small sitting area outside. Worth going there!

Almost all pancakes could be made vegan which was a big plus! I had a vegan Bavarian Apple which was really sweet and tasteful.

Das Personal hat uns ewig warten lassen und war relativ unhöflich. Die Pfannkuchen waren im Vergleich zu anderen niederländischen Restaurants eine recht kleine und teure Portion und mit Blaubeeren wurde auch gespart.

Any of the pancakes can be made vegan (the actual pancake batter) but you will specifically have to ask for non vegan toppings to be removed, e.g Nutella.

If you're vegan go elsewhere - Edit
If you're vegetarian, this place is absolutely fine. Lots of options which include cheese, eggs, crème fraîche etc but no meat.
Read moreHowever, if you're vegan, there are better places to go. While they do make the pancakes with a vegan batter, they don't have ANY vegan forms of cheese, egg or meat e.g. Nuurish, Quorn etc. So they are "vegan" in the sense that they are willing to remove bacon, egg, cheese etc and replace it with NOTHING.
The result was a pretty but dry and blank savoury pancake with plain mushrooms and spinach, no sauce. I wouldn't eat here again even though the staff are lovely and the venue is beautiful. It's just not vegan-friendly.

Had a really nice time at this location that is basically next to the Dom tower. Service was nice and impressive, since we we sitting at the top of a very steep straircase.
Read moreTried the vegan pancakes which are also gluten free and delicious. Extra cost is 1,50 and can be combined with all menu combinations. For as far as I know the only place in Utrecht that serves vegan pancakes.
Restaurant Gys also offers vegan pancakes without extra charge. The pancakes at Gys are not gluten free.

Great to hear these are gluten free thanks for the review. However, these are not the the only vegan + gf pancakes in Utrecht, Gys also has them. They are very good!

Nice place with multiple options - Edit
Was a nice place to sit outside in their little terrace. The staff was friendly and they had many vegan options. The pancakes and all the toppings etc were really tasty although I would say the pancakes were a little on the dry side. But I'm not complaining that there's vegan pancakes in utrecht now!
