Serves meat, vegan options available. Bistro and tequila bar offering Mexican street food, house specials, and table-side guacamole. Vegan/vegetarian are not noted on the menu, but staff know about the options, such as the veggie tacos, a burrito, salads, guacamole, and a chocolate avocado pudding dessert. The black beans, refried beans, and Mexican rice are vegan.

Really good, a little difficult to figure out what can be made vegan - Edit
Good food, friendly people. I could not see any vegan options on the menu, but they were happy to veganize whatever they could for me. It was a little hard to tell what could be done, but our waitperson was good about making suggestions. I just went with whatever it was she said. I would be happy to go again, and overjoyed if they made it more clear/obvious what was vegan!

Filling, but limited - Edit
Very limited options but the waitress confirmed that the beans are vegan so I got a burrito without cheese/sour cream and it was alright. Comes with cilantro rice and pico de gallo. Chips and salsa comes with the table and we also got a side of guac. Filling, but limited.

Enjoyed two vegan meals there - Edit
I went there twice in one week -- lunch and dinner.
Read moreThe first time, our server didn't offer us many options, but what we had was quite good: veggie burrito and a tostada, with a side of guacamole.
The second time, our server was vegan himself and gave us more recommendations. The roasted brussel sprouts were tasty, a bit on the sweet side. And the refried beans were vegan.
As a bonus, their chips and salsa are better than average.
In summary, this is not the type of vegan-friendly Mexican restaurant that has vegan cheese, vegan sour cream and menu items marked vegan. But it is still a good Mexican restaurant where vegans can enjoy a tasty and filling lunch or dinner.

Gone downhill - Edit
Update #2: The menu has fewer and fewer vegan options. You will have to talk to your server and go off-menu. They know what they can put together but it honestly isn’t worth the high price for what you get. The drinks are still really good though.
Read moreOriginal review: The tacos frijoles were great, as was the guacamole. Like most Mexican places, there’s a lot of meat and cheese, but their veggie items are well-done. They’re happy to modify things as well, so other veggie options open up with a few changes for vegans.
Drinks were also really great.
Update #1: Some of the sauces they use, including both the roja and verde sauces, are now made with animal stock. Specify vegan or vegetarian when ordering and they will swap out for a different sauce that isn’t made with animal products.
Pros: Willing to accommodate vegans
Cons: No vegan menu items listed

Very friendly staff, knowledgeable about options. - Edit
I got the vegan burrito, came with a cilantro rice and pico de gallo. The chips, salsa, and quac were really good too. Great downtown location. Covid conscious. The drinks were also superb.

Yummy Tacos - Edit
I got the Colifor Fritas without the bleu cheese, and thought they were excellent. I liked how spicy they were. I had been there a while ago and had ordered what they had at the time as their one and only veggie dish and it had been a similar 3-taco dish of really great bean tacos. I’d had that twice. Although they really don’t have much for vegans what they do have is very yummy. We had to sit outside because of phase two reopening and it was nice.

Not a lot of options but what they have is delicious. - Edit
The only vegan things listed on the menu are the guacamole and veggie tacos. When we asked our waitress, she told us they would be happy to make things vegan where they could. My husband got a veggie chimichanga and it was off the hook. It was stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, onions, peppers, corn, rice, potatoes, and black beans. 10/10 would get this again.

love it - Edit
On the recommendation of a colleague, we ventured from Martha's Vineyard to Anejo for a special occasion. Even though the menu does not look vegan-friendly, the servers were completely aware of vegan requests, and easily explained all vegan options. I chose the veggie tacos (it was Taco Tuesday), which came with a black bean and corn salsa, and was incredibly delicious and filling. We also ordered tableside guacamole that was a meal in itself, but when I learned that the chocolate avocado pudding was vegan (minus the whipped cream), I ordered that after and was thrilled with the experience. We will return even if it means we have to ride a ferry and travel half a day for a good Mexican meal.
