Difficult to Find

An Lac is a veg restaurant with local flavors on the first floor of someone’s home.

As such, it can be difficult to locate in a residential area. There is no large sign but there may be small flyers.

The food was tasty, but the professionalism of the space could use improvement.

Pros: Local flavors

Cons: Confusing navigation

Great family restaurant!

We had a wonderful food in this vegan restaurant! We ordered about 6 dishes, all were absolutely great, most favourite was “pork” with pepper which we rolled in some leaf and rice paper (only crispy rice was more biscuit than side-dish, not what I expected). It is bit difficult to find, better open in google maps. Also the door looks like Closed, just try to walk in. Highly recommend!

Pros: Great food, not too oily, Very good price, Many many options

Cons: Hard to find, far from center

Please note 2022 Now at NEW ADDRESS! Number 88 Ngo 34 Pham Than Duat street.

Great warm friendly place. Family owned and operated. Clean and welcoming with food prepared in their own kitchen.
Food comes freshly made by the mother. Variety of dishes. Very generous portions.
Price can't be beat too.
Banana flower salad and mushroom filled tofu squares were highlights.
10-15 min bicycle ride from centre of Tam Coc.

EDIT: Please note, they have moved to a NEW ADDRESS in 2022. NEW ADDRESS is Number 88, Ngo 34 Pham Than Duat street. About 3km from the old address.

Amazing vegan options

What a surprise to find such a place in Tam Coc! We were craving veggies and couldn't be happier after eating there!
Both the mango and the banana salad are awesome, they use bits of coconut to create texture, so smart. Flavours were on point and sizes were huge!
Mixed vegetables so tasty, great stuffed tofu even though the mushroom stuffing could use a little seasoning (spice/herbs) as apart from the tomato the rest fell a little flat.
We'll be back tonight and tomorrow night to try everything else!
Finally the rice was perfect, not always easy to do!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Creativity and flavours, Large portions

Great, affordable food

The food tastes so good, especially the deep fried banana flower with tamarind sauce, both salads (mango and banana flower) and the trivet rolls. Every single dish was amazing, these are just our favorites.
"Vegan tiger prawn" taste like surimi, "scorched rice" is kind of like rice crisps.
The portions are huge!
The price varies mostly between 30-50k vnd.

Pros: Tasty, affordable, WiFi

Cons: -

Damn this pic has me salivating. I just remembered about this restaurant because a friend talked to me about Vietnam. It's amongst the tastiest food I've ever eaten. And the price!

Vegan soul food

This restaurant is vegan heaven. The menu offers a great variety of dishes and all the meals were very fresh. We had the vegan Pho, mushroom stuffed tofu, as well as the banana and mango salad. So tasty, with super fresh ingredients and herbs. Definitely recommend this family run restaurant with super friendly service.

Best we had in Vietnam!

If you are in the area this is a must visit. We went for a late lunch and were the only diners there. The owner was the only one working and we may have interrupted her having a meal but she was very welcoming and more than happy to serve us. The food was all FANTASTIC. We had the banana blossom salad, tofu stuffed with mushroom, 2 kinds of fried rolls (one was spring rolls and the other ‘vegan hill’. No idea but the picture looked good), stir fried noodles and plain rice. So so yummy, I wish I could go back 😭 we over ordered (as usual) and packed the leftovers. They were just as delicious cold the next day as we waited at the airport to come home to Aus 😊☹️

Pros: Entirely vegan, Freshly made, Very friendly and welcoming owner

Good, cheap veg food.

We ordered the mushroom stuffed tofu, veggies of the season & sushi rolls. Everything was nice and natural, but none of it was amazing or extraordinary. They don't use much spices. The tofu was a bit too oily for my taste. The food was cheap. We paid 100.000 for everything (3 dishes, food for 2 people). It's a good place if you want a healthy cheap meal, but don't expect too much. No free rice with the meal. It's an extra 20k. Didn't see the staff much, they were in the kitchen all the time. Had to walk there to pay.

Pros: Cheap, Healthy

Cons: Not that special

Great!

The fried rice is normal.
The soup pho was a disappointment, it looked like it missed important ingredients in the broth .
The tofu tomato sauce is as always good.
The com chay (scorched rice) is really cultural to Vietnam, it looks like a rice kripsie but It is just a crust of crispy rice. If you don't know what it is, don't try it is also a disappointment , viet cuisine has more to offer.

What I really liked were the banana flowers fried and the sweet potato cake. The shredded mushroom are really nice to add on rice.

However this is not the best restaurant in Vietnam but pretty good!
Prices normal.

The young woman owner is really nice.

Pros: Nuoc mam chay available

Tasty, cheap, and an extensive veg menu

A large, tasty vegan menu with options you don't often see in Asia. I stayed traditional and had pho, and it was filling and packed with veggies which seems to be a rarity here. Super welcoming staff as well (:

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff, Delicious

Must go in Ninh Binh

This is definitely one of the best vegan restaurants we've been in SE Asia! The menu has many 'not conventional' options to choose from, which is amazing specially for those, like us, tired of eating rice/noodles with vegetables. We tried the banana flower salad, shredded mushroom, vegan pork ribs and trivet rools. Everything was super tasty and the portions are quite big (and well priced) so we asked them to pack the rest for us to take away. The family that runs the place is lovely. Don't miss the chance of meeting this people and treating you with delicious food 😉

Pros: All vegan

Cheap and tasty!

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner both nights we were in Ninh Binh as we loved it so much. Fresh homemade Vietnamese food...and from what we could tell, all vegan! We both ordered the fried rice and had a plate of sweet potato cakes to share. Everything was delicious and inexpensive and the owner was a wonderful friendly host. Would highly recommend!

Pros: Most meals around 30k in price, Very friendly welcoming host, Cute kids to say hello to
