On the main road from Ning Bing to Tam Coc, look for the sign "com chay" (veg) on the right side of the road. Not fully vegan despite the sign - vegans advised to specify. Small family-run establishment; may close irregularly so call ahead to confirm open. Relocated from 30 Thang 6. Open Mon-Sun 8:00am-8:00pm. Closed first two days of Vietnamese new year.

Difficult to Find - Edit
An Lac is a veg restaurant with local flavors on the first floor of someone’s home.
Read moreAs such, it can be difficult to locate in a residential area. There is no large sign but there may be small flyers.
The food was tasty, but the professionalism of the space could use improvement.

Great family restaurant! - Edit
We had a wonderful food in this vegan restaurant! We ordered about 6 dishes, all were absolutely great, most favourite was “pork” with pepper which we rolled in some leaf and rice paper (only crispy rice was more biscuit than side-dish, not what I expected). It is bit difficult to find, better open in google maps. Also the door looks like Closed, just try to walk in. Highly recommend!

Amazing vegan options - Edit
What a surprise to find such a place in Tam Coc! We were craving veggies and couldn't be happier after eating there!
Read moreBoth the mango and the banana salad are awesome, they use bits of coconut to create texture, so smart. Flavours were on point and sizes were huge!
Mixed vegetables so tasty, great stuffed tofu even though the mushroom stuffing could use a little seasoning (spice/herbs) as apart from the tomato the rest fell a little flat.
We'll be back tonight and tomorrow night to try everything else!
Finally the rice was perfect, not always easy to do!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Creativity and flavours, Large portions

Great, affordable food - Edit
The food tastes so good, especially the deep fried banana flower with tamarind sauce, both salads (mango and banana flower) and the trivet rolls. Every single dish was amazing, these are just our favorites.

This restaurant is vegan heaven. The menu offers a great variety of dishes and all the meals were very fresh. We had the vegan Pho, mushroom stuffed tofu, as well as the banana and mango salad. So tasty, with super fresh ingredients and herbs. Definitely recommend this family run restaurant with super friendly service.

Best we had in Vietnam! - Edit
If you are in the area this is a must visit. We went for a late lunch and were the only diners there. The owner was the only one working and we may have interrupted her having a meal but she was very welcoming and more than happy to serve us. The food was all FANTASTIC. We had the banana blossom salad, tofu stuffed with mushroom, 2 kinds of fried rolls (one was spring rolls and the other ‘vegan hill’. No idea but the picture looked good), stir fried noodles and plain rice. So so yummy, I wish I could go back 😭 we over ordered (as usual) and packed the leftovers. They were just as delicious cold the next day as we waited at the airport to come home to Aus 😊☹️

Good, cheap veg food. - Edit
We ordered the mushroom stuffed tofu, veggies of the season & sushi rolls. Everything was nice and natural, but none of it was amazing or extraordinary. They don't use much spices. The tofu was a bit too oily for my taste. The food was cheap. We paid 100.000 for everything (3 dishes, food for 2 people). It's a good place if you want a healthy cheap meal, but don't expect too much. No free rice with the meal. It's an extra 20k. Didn't see the staff much, they were in the kitchen all the time. Had to walk there to pay.

Great! - Edit
The fried rice is normal.
Read moreThe soup pho was a disappointment, it looked like it missed important ingredients in the broth .
The tofu tomato sauce is as always good.
The com chay (scorched rice) is really cultural to Vietnam, it looks like a rice kripsie but It is just a crust of crispy rice. If you don't know what it is, don't try it is also a disappointment , viet cuisine has more to offer.
What I really liked were the banana flowers fried and the sweet potato cake. The shredded mushroom are really nice to add on rice.
However this is not the best restaurant in Vietnam but pretty good!
Prices normal.
The young woman owner is really nice.
Pros: Nuoc mam chay available

A large, tasty vegan menu with options you don't often see in Asia. I stayed traditional and had pho, and it was filling and packed with veggies which seems to be a rarity here. Super welcoming staff as well (:

Must go in Ninh Binh - Edit
This is definitely one of the best vegan restaurants we've been in SE Asia! The menu has many 'not conventional' options to choose from, which is amazing specially for those, like us, tired of eating rice/noodles with vegetables. We tried the banana flower salad, shredded mushroom, vegan pork ribs and trivet rools. Everything was super tasty and the portions are quite big (and well priced) so we asked them to pack the rest for us to take away. The family that runs the place is lovely. Don't miss the chance of meeting this people and treating you with delicious food 😉

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner both nights we were in Ninh Binh as we loved it so much. Fresh homemade Vietnamese food...and from what we could tell, all vegan! We both ordered the fried rice and had a plate of sweet potato cakes to share. Everything was delicious and inexpensive and the owner was a wonderful friendly host. Would highly recommend!
