Posto molto carino ma niente di speciale - Edit
Ristorante molto carino, atmosfera tranquilla e rilassata. Io ho provato il piatto unico e non mi ha soddisfatta pienamente, non era niente di speciale e abbastanza piccolo. Sicuramente per il prezzo dei piatti si riesce a trovare di meglio in città, ma comunque non lo sconsiglio. Personale gentile

Nice smoothie and fresh mint tea - Edit
Unfortunately the cheese platter which we had read about in reviews is not available at the moment.
Read moreThey have made a simplified and reduced menu during covid upheaval. Menu mostly containing Asian rice based lunch dishes... We had already had lunch elsewhere and just wanted to try the cheese platter, so we just had a smoothie and tea to support the cafe. The only desert they had was advised to us not to be vegan by our waiter.
So I had the fruit smoothie, which tasted like it was just frozen fruit. No sugar or water added as is commonplace. The mint tea was fresh.
I also read various comments about staff being like zombies, 1st thing to say is that I wouldn't really care if that was the case. When I go out to eat, it's to eat nice food, not to feel like a waiter is my best friend for an hour. However I found that the 2 members of staff that I saw were riendly and welcoming.
Pros: Nice smoothie, Fresh mint tea, Chilled atmosphere
Cons: No cheese platter :'(

Great, but not perfect - Edit
We went there twice and were very positive of their cheese platter. It was simply amazing! The place is quite cozy, but the staff was a bit zombie-like when we went to the counter to order (this order-and-pay-at-the-counter way of ordering is cool with us). We also tried the smoothie bowls, which were a bit dissapointing compared to the price.

Too bad - Edit
We stumbled upon this little gem by accident. And with its nice and quiet garden, relaxing music and a small abbling brook, they've really created the perfect vibe for a chill out lunch in the late afternoon.
Read moreToo bad their lunch is mediocre, at best. Sure, the fried rice is fine. But everything else we had was downright tasteless. From the sweet soup and the mushrooms, to the salad and the seaweed. With the miso soup being straight up gross.
There are some really great vegan places in Chiang Mai. But unfortunately Amrita isn't one of them.
Oh. And beware. For an "all vegan" restaurant, it's got some non vegan items on the menu... Yep.
Pros: Nice atmosphere
Cons: Tasteless food, Not all vegan place after all

Yummy but pricey for the portion - Edit
Food was pretty good, small portions. I had the apple walnut salad and my boyfriend had ginger fried rice and bbq tempeh which was all good, but the “nuka duke” (fermented pickles) was weak. I felt it was a bit expensive for what we got.

Very disappointing quality - Edit
Yesterday we stopped in and ordered a vegan cheeseburger and two salads. The cheeseburger was quite simply awful - the patty and/or bun was stale, the vegan cheese 'slab' tasted like oil gone bad (almost rancid but not that bad). The salads were ok but very small for the price. This has been our first poor review of places in Chiang Mai - we used to live here and come back regularly. We are finding that places within the old city appear to be focussed on transient clientele and perhaps not working to maintain quality standard. This place had a quirky and bohemian atmosphere nice enough but food was of a very low/bad standard and we were not even asked how we liked it. With loads of quality places competing not a good idea.

Meh, tiny, overpriced desserts - Edit
Can only speak of the dish I had - vegan tiramisu - but tbh it was pretty disappointing as it was a very small portion and one note, while being relatively expensive.
Read moreThe restaurant atmosphere is okay but quite dark - and the lady at the counter forgot to bring me my order and was dilly-dallying around until I purposely moved from the outside area to inside (somewhat passive-aggressively) (just kidding) in order to get her attention (we’re all human, it’s forgivable, but still).

Disappointing, don’t bother coming here. - Edit
My partner and I ordered the vegan cheese platter and the tempeh, we tried to also order the soba noodles but not available. We also ordered a latte that was burnt and super bitter I think it was instant coffee?
Read moreThe cheese was gross and nasty, honestly tasted like cheap dairy cheese that had been left in the sun.
The tempeh was supposed to come with a Japanese sauce and was just dry tasteless tempeh.
Do yourself a favour and skip this place- go to Reform Kafe instead so much nicer and better quality food for the same price.
Cons: Overpriced , Left my partner and I with stomach aches , Serves dairy

Good burger - Edit
Nice and quiet location with outside seating. The vegan mushroom burger was good, but came together with the starter which was a bit unfortunate. Dessert was excellent.

Hit or miss - Edit
We stopped at this cute location for lunch. I was really hungry and ended up ordering the tempeh burger. My partner got one of the daily lunch sets. As we waited for our food we browsed the shop - it had beauty products, desserts, and clothes. Most items were overpriced, though there were some tempting dessert options and cool ancient sea salt. When our food came I wished I had gotten something else. For the price it was not enough food. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his lunch set, which we recommend - it is a healthy mix of rice and fresh sautéed veggies with a flavorful soup.

Amazing place with great food! - Edit
We are not the typical "yoga & organic" kind of ppl. Nonetheless we really enjoyed our stay here. The food was super tasty and the staff was very attentive. The price point is great for the value of the food and the way the food is presented makes it even more tasty. Unfortunately the cheese platter was not available when we arrived but we then ordered the vegan platter, which we highly recommend!

Amazing breakfast spot - Edit
Centrally located, we ended up hear quite often for breakfast. I loved their macrobiotic plates, such gut-friendly fermented foods. Smoothie bowls were also delicious, very large, very banana-y. Also enjoyed the yogurt w/cereal and fruit. I am vegan/gluten-free.

Great burger - Edit
I really enjoyed the burger and although I thought that it would not be filling (they do not offer standard chips as a side with burger) it was indeed really wholesome and good size.

Wonderful Place, Wonderful Food - Edit
We used to love Amrita Garden as for many years it was the only western style restaurant in Chiang Mai with a vegan menu. Although the menu always has been and still is completely vegan, they still offer some non-vegan desserts. They do however sell vegan desserts as well including cookies, muffins, cakes and some particularly good raw vegan cheesecakes.
Read moreOver recent years some very strong competition from other fully vegan restaurants has developed and the quality from Amrita seems to have gone down. For example, the amazing pasta dish they used to sell has for some reason been taken off the menu!
They have introduced an interesting range of burgers although they don't offer chips which for us makes the meal incomplete.
In their favour they do offer some unique Japanese-inspired dishes that can't be found in other places in Chiang Mai. The setting is also very lovely in a pretty garden and old wooden house. The owners are also very sweet.
Come here if you want something different but we aware it is quite health-focused and if you are looking to get really full it's kind of hard to do on the food here.

Really nice garden setting. The food was fresh and good portions sizes. A little expensive by Thailand standards but not too bad for a sit down meal. The raw mango cheesecake for dessert was amazing.

Amrita Garden - Edit
The vibe in this restaurant is so calm and cozy, comfy simple wooden interior with lovely music playing in the background. I took the chocolate cake & the smoothie bowl. The chocolate cake felt a bit dry and missed some filling to glue together her 3 layers. I was a bit daring and used the strawberry smoothie to improve the taste and make it less dry😄

Strange - Edit
Ordered bbq tempeh ribs, not sure what they did or if they did anything. Tempeh was just mushy and flavourless. Had kombucha salad which made my taste buds funny after awhile. Boyfriend had beetroot burger which he said was gross. Pulled beetroot jackfruit and mustard is an awful combo.

come here for the Zen atmosphere - Edit
The food was fine. Like most places in Chiang Mai, you can linger and relax. The big draw is the decor, which is like a Zen garden with new age music piped in. The menu is part macrobiotic (which I did not try) and part vegan burger joint.

Best place in Chiang Mai! - Edit
Very relaxing environment, which makes it a great place to chill. All the food here is organic and they had loads of gluten free options. It’s more expensive than your average restaurant, but I find the price fair for what you get. The mushroom pasta was really good! I preferred this place to other vegan restaurants in town.

Many protein sources & fermented foods - Edit
Vegan heaven with a very varied exciting menu and more truly vegan ingredients for when you’re tired of your regular veggies + tofu pad thai combos. Can get both tempeh and seitan dishes, plus a lot of fermented foods. Big shut out for nato! The place has a really meditative atmosphere, far from the madding crowd vibe. Dishes are rich in flavours. Price as far as I remember: can get full for ~150/200 baht/pp.
