Riverside, nice vibe & yummy vegan options! - Edit
Really glad we came here - nice relaxed atmosphere overlooking the river in the city centre.
Read moreThe service was great and very accommodating for vegans, switching the sangria wine for us. We had paella and 4 tapas followed by almond cake and coffee.
Such a nice spot to catch up with a friend and chat, drink & graze for the evening!
Pros: Service & vibe, Vegan variety, Central/Riverside location

Plant based / vegan tapas - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised with how many plant based options they had to offer here.
Read moreI enjoyed all the options I tried. The vegan chorizo and meat balls were in a sauce that was really rich and although I enjoyed them these were my least favourite.
The remaining 6 options were amazing! I loved the sauces that came with the "fake" prawns and the Veganised squid rings.
I went with a flexitarian and an omnivore and they both enjoyed the options. 🙂
Pros: The amount of vegan options, The range of different options, Reasonably priced when sharing the tapas.
Cons: The rich sauce , It's not a fully vegan restaurant

Would give 5 stars if I could! - Edit
We went here for our anniversary and we’re so impressed!
Read moreFirst of all, they have 5 vegan starters and 11 vegan mains or plates. Some which include vegan meat alternatives and some that just use vegetables.
The waiter who served us had a vegan girlfriend and understood how hard it can be for vegans so told us that we can change anything we like, swap things around and add anything we want. Super helpful!
We got Patatas bravas (my fave), buñuelos de berenjena, champiñones, abióndigas veganas, chorizo y patatas veganos and brocheta de pollo y chorizo vegano.
I really loved the patatas bravas, the potatoes were cooked perfectly and the sauces on top were so flavourful and thick.
The albóndigas veganas we’re meatballs in a smoky stew and we’re cooked perfectly. The sauce was great and the big bits of olive worked so well with the whole dish.
My least favourite was Chorizo y patatas veganos as the sauce was super super sweet and that was the only flavour.
Other than that, the food came quickly and the vibe was great inside.
Pros: Really helpful staff, Lots of vegan options, Delicious food

Top tier tapas place - Edit
They have their own vegan menu with fake meats but also so many yummy vegetable options. The place is rustic and has a nice vibe and the food is 10/10. My fav tapas place in the city. Tip: Sit outside on the balcony and have a drink while you enjoy the view of the canal.

Good vegan tapas and wine choices - Edit
Came accross Ambiente by accident but glad we did. We had the vegan sharing platter to start. At £14.95 it was so tasty and excellent value. We then ordered from the varied vegan tapas menu.which again were very tasty.

Vegan Tapas - Edit
Enjoyed a night here with three friends. The staff were excellent and they provided a separate vegan menu that indicates which dishes on the main menu are suitable and what they omit to make them vegan. The wine list also indicates which are suitable. The food was excellent and my non-vegan friends tried one of my dishes which they said was one of the best of the night.

Many options - Edit
We booked ahead as for a birthday and made a note that we were two vegans and a veggie. We were bought a spread sheet which clearly showed us all dietary options. It also indicated were things could be made vegan. There was a lot of choice that choosing 3-4 dishes as recommended was no problem. Apart from a slight slip up with one veganised dish came not veganised but that was quickly rectified. Really good new place to go for posh grub as usually stick to bigger chains to be safe. Feel that I have somewhere special to eat!

Vegan Options & Really Delicious - Edit
I contacted Ambiente Tapas who also have sites in York, to ask about vegan options and felt happy I would be well fed, so booked for Saturday lunch.
Read moreI chose a Fuenteseca Sauvignon Blanc wine, having had it before, knew it was vegan and an excellent wine to boot. Although the wine list labelled wines vegetarian, maybe Ambiente could extend it to include vegan ones too, sure their vegan customers would appreciate it.
I ordered the vegetarian platter, without the non vegan empanadas, with a vegan portion of patavas bravas. The platter included charred artichoke hearts, piquillo peppers, palm hearts, olive tapenade and tomato chutney, bread, olives and almonds. The presentation was fantastic, made me want to tuck in, even more so, when the equally delicious looking bravas arrived on the table.
I loved the food and had no complaints and apart from the fact that I was fit to burst, would have partaken of the vegan dessert, strangely enough the only dish labelled vegan on the menu, and the strange title of Moroccan Snake Bread.
I would definitely revisit if ever in Leeds
Pros: Vegan friendly, Vegan options, Vegan dessert

Vegan Tapas - Edit
I have been to Ambiente twice now with the most recent being for my birthday last month and on both occasions they have been able to adapt the tapas menu to vegan. Best to send a quick email in advance to save time though. When we arrived the staff brought out a specially adapted vegan menu including desserts and wines. Personally I would advise getting 3-4 tapas dishes (£3.95-£4.95 each) to share followed by vegetable paella (£19.95) to share which is what myself and the wife got, the paella was delicious! Thank you Ambiente.
