Sehr leckes veganes Abendessen - Edit
Ich war in den Restaurant zu Gast und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Sehr leckere und ausreichend viele vegane Optionen, welche in der Speisekarte gekennzeichnet sind. Zum Abschluss gab es noch ein Dessert auf Kosten des Hauses. Gern wieder.

Simple food with good service - Edit
We ended up here after our first choice of restaurant was fully booked, but were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is in a nice area and the staff were very attentive- especially when we said we were vegan.
Read moreThe options on the menu have a little leaf where they can be made vegan- but it's worth saying that you are. The dolmades were delicious- especially the ones in courgette flower and we enjoyed the courgette fritters as well. The veggie souvlaki had a great flavour but needed a sauce (and was not a big portion). The lentil salad was also nice, but could have been bigger. The pita was fresh and delicious.
We were then brought two free deserts (by a different server) which were obviously not vegan- but when our server noticed he immediately corrected the mistake and took them away and brought us out an almond milk pudding thing which was refreshing.
Overall it was simple and nice- nothing special but a good option if you like classic vegan food.

They had some vegan dishes in their menu and the service was very nice. However some of the vegan dishes seemed to have tsatziki so I asked separately everything to be vegan. It turned out to be our least favourite food in Crete. The vegetarian souvlaki came without any sauce and reminded more of some kind of school food.
Read moreWe got some raki and dessert (first they bought us non-vegan desserts and had to tell them again that it should be vegan) in the end. Ok place to go but there are better restaurants to try in Heraklion.

Meine Frau hatte die "frittierten Zucchini Patties" und sie war hoch zufrieden. Die leicht scharfe Soße und das Pita-Brot dazu waren auch klasse.

Lovely location, underneath the trees of the square. Be warned, the birds are VERY loud but they quiet down when the sun goes down.

Service is friendly and food comes very quickly, with the downside that the rice inside the dolmades wasnt quite ready. Mains are served with rice and bread, bread might contain milk, butter, or eggs, as all vegetarian mains are marked as such and not as vegan.
As with many restaurants in Greece, a bread platter with tapenade is served before and a dessert and some licqueur after the meal, on the house. We didnt like the licqueuer here.
2 starters, 2 mains, a glass of red whine and a margarita €40,5.
Pros: Quick, Vegan and veggie well marked on menu, Not expensive
Cons: Bird nois, Rice underdone

I can only recommend this place. The food tastes great and the atmosphere is pretty nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. We got vegan desserts for free plus raki.

The food was great. We made them aware that we were both vegan and they explained which dishes on the menu were vegan and which ones could be made vegan. The sizzling vegetables really are as good as other reviews say. The staff brought out a delicious vegan dessert for us afterwards on the house.

Was expecting the food to be great after reading the reviews but it was our least favorite meal on Crete. Nothing special, kind of bland and americanized. The service was very friendly and great though! Heads up, the avocado salad is guacamole with tortilla chips.

Searched for a veg option place since there is no fully vegan one and I must say, this place made feel special. The staff was super friendly and kind and did everything in order for me to feel satisfied. I ate the Quinoa Salad which was nice but I would try something different next time :)

The staff at Amilias kitchen is amongst the nicest and most helpfull ive ever encountered and I eat out, alot.
Read moreThe menu has a small section dedicated to both vegans and vegetarians but the staff is more than happy to use vegan friendly ingredients where possible to accomidate wishes of other, non vegan dishes from the menu.
Some of the dishes include, lental salat with bread and guacamolo, quinoa salat with fried beets, green salat, stir fried vegetables, mouzaka etc.
As I where ordering for the 3'rd time in two days, the waiter told me they also used to make vegan mousaka but didnt anymore. I asked if they would buy the neccessary ingredients and prepare it for me for dinner the next day and without hesitation she said ofc. Even though they are not a vegan restaurant, they deserve to be mentioned as they provide a great service to vegans.
