Nice service but - Edit
Very small Italian vegetarian restaurant, a few labelled vegan options.

Would give 3 star but as I was near counter saw staff reuse left over bread served to the next customer.

Great restaurant to eat authentic!! - Edit
The food tasted very good, especially the dessert was a dream!! It tasted like crème brûlée. I absolutely recommend the restaurant and would eat it all again. The staff was super nice!! Don’t hesitate to go inside if it looks full in the front room, there is a second room in the back, too. Not 5 stars because the menu is not fully vegan. The vegan dishes are clearly labelled. Loved it still!

Phenomenal vegan Italian food - Edit
First off, yes, as the other reviews have mentioned the service is not good. But they will take your order and get your food out to you - what more do you need!
Read moreThe food was phenomenal, the menu has plenty of vegan options. We went at lunch and about 30% of the options were vegan, they are clearly labeled with VEG. The serving sizes were small, but the flavor was unmatched. This is a must visit in Milan.

I'd give attention to something else first. - Edit
The place has a genuine feel, for italian local standards too. Unfortunately there are very limited vegan options especially if you go last minute at lunch. Not that friendly either.

Delicious food - Edit
With a bit of patience you can eat really well here. We had to ask the staff for vegan options and although they don't have many options, the food was delicious. Would recommend. We ordered pumpkin gnocchi and orechiette with caperi and pomodoro

traditional look - Edit
They opened at 12 (not 11.30 as stands here). I had the gnocchi (10-13 euro), they were nice, but the portion was not big enough. The bread on table was also for extra charge. The service was nice, they spoke English.

Milan Vegan in a nutshell = share and share alike - Alla Vecchia - Edit
Reviews of European locals by folks relatively unacquainted with the differences in cultural norms can do more harm than good. This place is a good example of a little restaurant that strives to be itself - and has been for nearly two generations. This is not vegan for millennials or short-term vegans who haven't been witness to how agonizingly slow change toward increasing vegan options has been. This is a solid stop for good vegan within a typical non-vegan environment world-wide. Stai zitto e divertiti !
Read morePros: Grandma or Great Auntie still serves it up! , Carefully read and confirmed orders go well, Tapas and family style food is well made

Great food, great atmosphere - Edit
We ate here today and were delighted by the food. All delicious and varied. We went for the mixed platter from the grill/oven which was very good but a bit price at EUR 30 for 2. This is not a place for vegans though since there is a heavy use of cheese. Starters are around EUR 8 - 10 and main courses EUR 9 - 13. Deserts looked great but we were too full to go for them. There is a cover of EUR 1.50 per head.

Great selection of veggie Italian food close to city centre - Edit
First, the location is excellent, only 5 minutes from the Duomo.
Read moreThe restaurant is quite small but there are additional tables in the back so even if the front part is full best to go in and double check if there is space.
Really large selection of food. Although you can easily find basic Italian vegetarian pasta and pizza dishes in Milan there were a lot of dishes here you won't find at normal restaurants.
Vegan options weren't labeled unfortunately but the staff were helpful and approachable.
It was a tad on the pricey side but given the location no worse than you'd find anywhere nearby and the food was good enough that we didn't feel we'd paid over the odds.
Pros: Unbeatable location, huge choice for vegetarians w
Cons: Small, slightly expensive

Good food, great location, don't use the loo! - Edit
Lovely traditional food with friendly service. Very popular and thereby cramped, but still a pleasant experience. The individual dishes are better than the sharing platters unless you have a big, hungry crowd (we saw a lot left).

Amazing - Edit
Great place, very popular, has a vast choice normal italian dishes that happen to be vegetairian rather than lots of fake meat. Admittedly they didn't have half of the dishes available, but what we had (mixed plate of about 9 hot dishes to share between 2 for 30 euros) was delicious. Great service.

Seems to be fully vegetarian now - Edit
I've found this restaurant on a random walk around the Duomo area. The small room was completely full of locals/tourists and what they had on the table looked like vegetarian. I checked the menu and only noticed a few options with eggs, but the rest was at least lacto-vegetarian. Might need to double-check with Italians. I wanted to order two dishes and they kindly offered me like a "combo", so with smaller portions of each but much lower prices. The simple pasta with Pomodoro sauce was excellent.

Not really veg - Edit
It is a small place in central Milan and you are lucky to find a seat a lunch time. But I never trust a veg place where they don't know what vegan is! Also they have fish here. I guess the place has been open for 50 years. The food was okay, but stuff I can find basically anywhere that you say no meat, no milk, etc. I am an American who speaks some Italian and I was with native Italians who helped translate - the staff was surprised that we asked about dishes without dairy. I suggest spending your time and money looking for a real vegetarian place where they at least know about vegans (also a good sign for vegetarians). You can find the dairy free pasta dishes almost anywhere if you ask, so I found this special trip pointless (and kind of expensive).

Cons: Not a vegetarian restaurant, Don't speak any English, Unfamiliar with vegan diets

Friendly service - Edit
A small, non-fancy, straight ahead place with very friendly service. Their is a large menu, the food is tasty, and a bit rich and oily. There are some vegan options, but not many -- note the word "Latteria" in the name: this place is mostly for lacto/ovo vegetarians. If you are in a big rush, you might also check out the natural juice bar across the street, or the "Jungle Juice" store on nearby on Via Dogana.

Cons: rich, not vegan-oriented
