Top notch place for tea - Edit
Alice's Tea Cup has a couple of venues in NYC that serve tea in the English style (as opposed to a Japanese-tea-ceremony style, for instance). The teas here are great, both for drinking in and buying to take home. The environment is nice and relaxed as well, an ideal place to get together with friends over a pot of tea. Young children seem to really like this place (though so do adults without children). I have gone to Alice's Tea Cup on many occasions over the past number of years, and have always left happy.
Read moreAdmittedly, the food is not the main attraction here, however, especially not for Happy Cow members. True, you can have a vegan scone with your tea, and if you are really hungry, they also have a few other vegan items (hummus sandwich, a salad, and a fruit serving)--but the vegan food at Alice's Tea Cup seems like an afterthought. On the other hand, if you want good tea in pleasant surroundings, and are less focused on the food, you might well be pleased enough with what little they do offer.
