Read moreThe food was a bit underwhelming but I'd certainly go back to try other dishes (might have just chosen poorly). I've never seen vegan crab rangoon and it was really good!
They also give you a discount for bringing in your own cups/to-go containers, which is super cool. 💜
Edit as of 10/26/2024: I take it back! The food is incredible, just maybe not the sandwich I had the first time 😅 The miso ramen is amazinggggg, the green tea shake (!!!!!), the key lime pie. Yes please!

This second Alice location opened in January 2024 in Glenview, a suburb north of Chicago. The original location is in Edgewater.

The food was delicious. So much to choose from from start to finish. We purposely paced ourselves to have room for the vegan carrot cake and vegan chocolate cake at the end of the meal.
The satay had a wonderful off-the-grill sensibility. The dumplings were flavorful and delicately crisped.
The Korean bbq represented a unique seasoning. The sweet potato curry was creamy with slight heat from the spicing. The fried yuba skins were like sliced pork.
Service was excellent.
Portions were huge.

Fabulous vegan spot in The Glen - Edit
Came here for lunch with my Mom and sister. Absolutely fabulous experience. Service is friendly and attentive. Food is thoughtfully prepared and extremely delicious. The menu is extensive and everything sounds so good - the hardest decision is deciding what to order! We settled on sharing the mushroom starter (Mushlove), dumplings, and fresh spring rolls. All absolutely wonderful. Make sure to check out dessert, it is 💯. Culinary proof that plant-based desserts can be so amazing, they are better than their dairy counterpart! (We got some to bring home as well.) Tiramisu, cheesecake and lemon layer cake…What dessert dreams are made of. Can’t wait to go again next time I am in town. On point.

Amazing Food! Nice variety of dishes - Edit
My husband and I have tried almost everything on the menu, and nothing has disappointed. My favorite is either of the ramens! We are so happy this place is available to us without having to go into the city. I hope they will keep expanding in the suburbs. Very nice place, seems that the owners really care about promoting delicious vegan food and providing a great customer experience.

This was a nice place to stop, far enough out of the city of Chicago. Parking was easy and the area was nice and fancy. But the food is why I'll be back!! The crab Rangoon was amazing and the chow mein was super tasty and filling. I also had a Thai iced tea with soy milk which was yummy. I would love to try more of the menu! The restaurant was surprisingly busy on a Wednesday night.

All the familiar things on the menu in a great new space in Glenview. Got there at noon and by the time we left the place was hopping on a Saturday.
I audibled from my usual and had a great noodle soup I can’t remember the name of. Tho I could live without the “shrimp”
Oh. And the crab Rangoon appetizer, not huge but great taste blast from the carnivorous era.
Best option around.
Pros: Ube cake. , Great flavor and great vibe and familiar menu , Convenient to meet suburban friends
Cons: I don’t have more ube cake. Where is my ube cake?

I would come here just for the baos, especially when they have the ube ones. Also the baked tiramisue is delicious. The food overall is good and can’t wait to keep trying more. I did not like their hazelnut coffee, it was undrinkable unfortunately. This put me off ordering any other drinks.

Hello, the hazelnut coffee tasted like chemical. It left a bad taste in my mouth, as well as my friend who ordered the same. I had mine with soy milk and it curdled, which I was used to maybe when non-dairy milk options were available. However, it is the chemical taste that put me off most. On another instance my friend ordered tea and she complained that it was too sweet, but the waitress said there was no sugar or sweetener in it. The tea drink was not charged in the end.

Enjoyed celebrating my birthday here. While I am vegan, my husband and 2 young adult kids are not. We all enjoyed the food…everyone was happy! My husband especially liked the Bahn Mi sandwich. We all liked the Crab Rangoon so much, that we ordered a second plate of it. The Thai Tea was the best I have had and the dessert special Baked Tiramisu was amazing. Special thanks to Ellie, who provided wonderful recommendations and service. Grateful for an all-vegan restaurant closer/more accessible to the northwest suburbs.

Alice and friends is great. I'm so happy they opened this new location. The decor is so cute and the service was great. Everyone was so friendly. Our food was DELICIOUS. The shrimp and mushrooms were my favorites. The crab rangoon was a little too oniony. I don't like onions, though, so any amount of onion is too much for me. We finished with carrot cake which was moist and yummy! #Veganuary

We started with the steamed buns off the kids menu. They were the perfect texture and tasted great.
Read moreWe then shared the Spicy Bbq and kung Pau dishes. The bbq had a delicious Smokey taste and the broccoli was nice and moist as were the other vegetables. It was quite spicy but not overpoweringly so.
The king Pau was good too. It could have had lots more peanuts but it was saucy and good.
Apple cake was warm, texture was tender however I think it could have had lots more apples baked into the crumb base and an option of vanilla ice cream would have been perfect.
Pros: Excellent menu options, Attentive service without being in your face, Reasonably priced
