My partner and I stayed at this resort for several days. This review is ONLY for the restaurants and not for the resort as a whole. The resort is in a remote area and thus we had to eat at this restaurant and the attached “Las Palmas” several times, part of the reason why we picked the resort in fact was that both attached restaurants had clear vegan options. Despite the friendly staff (most of them) and items on the menu clearly marked vegan, the food quality could use substantial improvement. Several items on the menus of both restaurants had tofu but the kitchen didn’t have tofu for the entire duration of our stay (~ 6 days), so we never did get anything with tofu. Alexandra restaurant had only two vegan options, an unremarkable and bland eggplant appetizer and a risotto that was borderline disgusting. Las Palmas was slightly better in that they had a decent vegan mofongo, some salads and one night they were able to accommodate us by making a pizza with vegan cheese for an extra cost (despite it not being on the menu). This is why I’m giving them two stars instead of one. Las Palmas unfortunately also had some service issues, not enough staff to handle a normal volume of customers. Overall I wouldn’t recommend these restaurants in their current state and hope they make some improvements.
