Mango salad to die for! - Edit
They have quite a few vegan option. Appetizer, salads, mains and dessert.
Read moreMango salad was amazing, fresh with slight sweetness from the fruit. Ayurvedic salad was also good, savory and zesty. They didn’t have vegan dressing for the salad. Only dressing with honey. So make sure to point out you want it vegan.
Hummus and focaccias were okay. Salty.
Veggie curry was okay. Not very authentic. Got scammed with the rice. It was NOT Basmati.
Dal was thick and hearty. also not authentic and the rice was not basmati. Still good.
Vegan tiramisu was super creamy, sweet and delicious. Again, not very authentic. Very light on the coffee flavor, tasted more like cacao. Perfect if you do don’t like coffee.
Pros: Friendly staff, Good food, Good atmosphere
Cons: Closed a few hour mid day

Super friendly & good food - Edit
Great food! I had the hummus focaccia, potato wedges (standard with vegan garlic mayo) & vegan marinara pizza.
Read moreThe potato wedges are a recommendation! Definitely a good portion for 2-3 people (as tapas/starter) The pizzas were also big and with a nice thin crust. Also a lovely and cozy area and terrace!

Vegan pizza and friendly staff - Edit
Very nice and quiet outside seating in front of the restaurant.
Read moreThe staff was helpful, spoke English and German and the food was great!
We had Hummus and Focaccia as well as Nachos and Guacamole for starters: the hummus was not perfect, but all in all good and tasty starters.
For the main we’ve had a vegetarian and a vegan pizza and both were great!

Outstanding Food - Edit
This restaurant is a surprise gem down a quiet side street in Carrapateira, Portugal. Great beaches and surfing! We had the veggie soup and the dahl which were incredibly delicious (both vegan). They have fermented pizza dough, fresh salads and amazing desserts! My friend had the vegan tiramisu which she said was the best she's had. It was too sweet for me, but I don't eat sugar at all. WOW!
Read moreThe service was also outstanding: friendly, efficient, so helpful and just incredibly sweet.
We have 3 more free days in Portugal and we've arranged to stay right next door so we can keep eating this amazing food.

Pros: Amazing food, Great Service, Friendlly
Cons: That I didn't find it sooner, Construction noise next door, Cash only - like many in Portugal

Ayurvedic salad with missing ingredients - Edit
Small place, interesting menu.
Read moreI’ve ordered Ayurvedic salad. Menu listed 6 flavours which were: carrots, beets, blueberry, strawberry, almond and sesame seeds. Kept looking for strawberries and almonds underneath a huge mass of green leaves, beetroot and blueberries, but none could be found! Disappointing experience as being on low FODMAP diet means small amount of beets and blueberries is allowed. Half of beets and blueberries left and not finished which is sad and completely a waste. Even though a waiter said that leftovers go to communal waste! Wish I knew the dish will come out incomplete so that I could order something else that I could eat and wouldn’t waste. My partner’s dal was okay.
Pros: Small place , Interesting menu
Cons: Limited choice for vegan , Limited choice of gf dishes , Incomplete dish

Vegan mains and pizza in a cute, cosy restaurant - Edit
I had the gnocchi with pesto sauce which was delicious. There are a few vegan appetizers and also vegan pizza on the menu. Located in a cute but remote surfing town. Clientele was tourists plus internationals living in the area. Highly recommend!

A nice place to have dinner in Carrapateira - Edit
The food is yummy. We had guacamole and thyme focaccia as starters and pasta pesto (delicious!) and pizza vegana marinara as mains; and we also had one of the vegan wines, which was very nice (Quinta do Castelejo). Although it says it’s “vegan friendly”, Alecrim’s menu offered less vegan options than we were expecting, but it’s a very good place to go to and have dinner or lunch - and also because there is not a lot of vegan options around. The environment was very chill and friendly (also dog friendly 🐶).

New Vegan Option in Carrapateira - Edit
Unfortunately, this place is not complete vegan but has some nice vegan and vegetarian dishes. We had the Guacamole and Bruschetta as starters (both vegan) a Pizza Vegana Marinara with almond cheese which was really yummy with a little drawback that it doesn't exactly melt like cow-cheese. So the appearance is a little different - but so what! My friend had the Tajine (vegan) what was spiced very delicious. The owner offered vegan wine but we sticked to water this time. She told us that she would like to go more in the direction of vegan food but as the place is located in a small tourist village it's not possible to do completely without animal products. After all it is a really good recommendation as there are very little vegan restaurants in the area.
Read morePros: Very good fresh food, Nice and friendly people, Great seating outside
Cons: Not complete vegan, No breakfast, No credit cards
