Tasty vegan food in a unique+chill atmosphere

Stopped into Boise for work travel and decided to check it out as I was looking for a smaller afternoon snack of sorts, and was very happy to find this all-vegan spot! The server who helped me was attentive and super friendly. I tried their iced Oat Milk Pistachio Matcha latte which was *dangerously* delicious (you gotta try it!), as well as the Plant Pub Pretzel with Hawaiian black salt, which was as big as my head and tasted pretty good! 👍 I really enjoyed the atmosphere, too—the vibe was laid back and the decor was really unique. I’d definitely go back again to try some of the main entrees!

Chill, Trendy, and Delicious; Can Accomodate Large Groups!

Today was my first time eating at Alchemist Plant Pub. It was incredibly hot outside so we opted to eat inside. The decor is really cool with lots of room and plenty of seating. I did have to wipe crumbs and little stuck-on spots off my table and chair, so that was disappointing considering how nice the atmosphere was otherwise. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful without being over-attentive. The food was overall AMAZING. I ordered the hibiscus tea to drink, which was the best I've ever had. Of course, we were served water as well, and I loved all the drink glasses, which had the Alchemist logo and related symbols printed on them. Very cool 😎 For my main, I ordered The Downtown Burger with a Caesar salad. It also came with a large pickle spear. The Caesar was THE BEST salad of its kind I have ever eaten. I could have just eaten a big plate of that and been completely satisfied! Of course, the dressing was the magic ingredient, but the carrot bacon was a first for me and very delicious! The pickle, I donno if it's just from a supplier or made in house, but it was also very flavorful and delicious. Unfortunately, the star of the show, The Downtown Burger, fell flat after the intense experience of the previous items. I think it just needed more salt, but there were no salt & pepper shakers at the table. The texture of the mushroom-based patty with the soft bun, I can only describe it as stick-to-your-ribs. A little surprising for a burger but not unpleasant. I think if the flavor had been more robust, I would have loved it. Finally, I finished with a scoop of ice cream. They had peanut butter chocolate, my favorite! It's a coconut base, so for anyone who doesn't like coconut, skip the ice cream. The scoop was generous and it took me a while to eat, which is great because I was able to enjoy conversation with my dining partners while savoring it, and because it was the least expensive dessert on the menu, so I got full satisfaction for the least amount of money. The only remaining thing I want to mention is my disappointment when I found out, despite the logo and signage saying "100% plant-based", the drink I was most excited to order had honey in it. I am very grateful to our server for pointing it out. It wasn't mentioned on the menu, and in a "100% plant-based" pub, well, that's breaking a promise 😑 Still, overall I had an excellent experience and I'm going to keep Alchemist Plant Pub on my rotation for my weekly Sunday lunch dates!

Pros: ample seating, trendy decor, world's most delicious Caesar salad

Cons: not actually 100% plant-based, dirty tables and chairs, plain-tasting burger

Not great for the price

My partner and I ordered the porto-cheez-shroom sandwich and the plant pub pretzel. I felt like the sandwich portion was small for the price. Everything was very bland. Maybe a little more salt should be added to the recipes? I will try this place again, and hopefully it will be better.

What an Oasis

On a long tiring drive from Wyoming to Oregon we were so grateful to find this place on our way through Boise. The staff was really friendly and the food was fantastic. As an added benefit we discovered that they roast their own coffee and got an excellent Americano to happily get us a long way down the road.

Pros: everything we ordered, coffee, friendly staff

So wonderful!

Loved this experience. Loved the decor, the vibes, the small but thoughtful seasonal menu, the iced tea options, and all our food. I always seek out 100% vegan places to support!

Wonderful Oasis

This place offers modern vegan cuisine in a spacious dining area filled with appropriately themed decor, but not too kitschy. I wish I could have tried more from the cocktail menu, it was creative and thoughtful. I had the cesar salad, the fried kalamari, and the jackfruit BBQ sandwich. All way very good. I semi-regularly drive from Portland to Ogden and it can be really difficult to find appropriate food along the way. Boise is the perfect distance to stop for dinner and it's so cool to see some more all-vegan places popping up. Yes, I think this is more of a "plant based" vs. ethically vegan situation but I'm not going to quibble if I get good food in the bargain.

Pros: All-vegan menu, Cool vibes , Good cocktails

Impressed

In town for a few days and this cool spot just opened their outdoor seating. Sounds like they just opened their doors in general in the last two months or so. They were out of a couple items (soup and ice cream for their desserts - which all include ice cream) but other than that, the menu is varied and the staff are super friendly. My salad was SUPER heavy on the dressing but still delicious. They even knocked a couple bucks off my dessert because it didn’t include the a la mode which was generous of them. If I’m the mood for pub food, this is a good spot.

Went during Treefort

Limited menu offered during Treefort. We had a mushroom cheese dip on baguette with vegetable dipping sauce. It was a bit messy to eat, but tasty with the dipping sauce. I would have liked more mushrooms. Sandwich came with a side and I chose the Caesar salad which was served like a wedge with the dressing squeezed on top. For me it needed more dressing and I would have preferred it tossed. We had ”fish” tacos which were made with breaded and fried hearts of palm. Tacos were good and seasoned well. We had a side of fries and they were crisp and nicely salted. We’ll go back and probably would change rating to a five. I am excited about the concept and will continue to support !!!

Pros: It’s plant based, Near Freak Alley, Great concept

Cons: No outdoor seating
