A nice little find (thanks HappyCow!)

Think this will end up being our new go-to place when we’re in Whitby. Small, so worth booking if you want to eat in, but the food is tasty and the portions generous. We’re vegetarian but they have vegan cheese and mayo too so lots of options. BYOB with small corkage charge. Owner very friendly, helpful and hardworking! ☺️

So good

What a lovely surprise this little restaurant turned out to be. Everything is fresh made in front of you. And we overdosed on the homemade hot sauce. I was the only vegan in our party but the wonderful ladies there were able to adapt anything on their menu to make it vegan. A delightful place to eat!

Yum!

We booked after seeing reviews saying to do so. Thank god we did cos it was so busy, people came to the takeaway window nonstop. Service was very friendly, but quite slow (to be expected when takeaway being made at the same time etc!)...but this was actually great cos so often we feel rushed through meals and end up in and out so quickly. This way, we sat for a while over drinks (corkage charge so took a bottle of wine which was fab!) and then thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Like others say, vegan cheese isn't advertised but they do have it. We got nachos (held the sour cream obviously, she said they had vegan mayo but we declined) and a quesadilla, both of which were DELICIOUS. The cheese was great. We also got a big portion of hot sauce...I never thought we'd finish it all but we managed no bother, it was so smoky and delicious! Definitely recommend, it was great on the nachos and yummy in the quesadilla too!

Excellent, excellent food and friendly service

We had a fantastic, value-for-money meal at Al Taco (eat in) just last week. The ladies who run it are lovely, couldn't do more to help, and really knew what they were doing in terms of vegan options. We asked if one of the dishes could be made vegan, and that was sorted out for us with no trouble at all. Portions were filling, and huge, we took home leftovers. There's no license, so bring your own booze and pay a small corkage (£1) charge for guaranteed vegan drinking as well.

Pros: Excellent tasty food, Friendly staff, Leftovers

Cons: Small restaurant for sitting in, so book!

Excellent nosh!

Reasonably priced and tasty. They have vegan cheese, although they don't really advertise it for some reason. I was impressed with my burrito and I found it more enjoyable than some of the more established burrito establishments I've tried! I went back for another the following day!

Pros: Vegan cheese

Cons: Unreliable opening hours, sit-in is cramped

brilliant vegan option for fast, tasty food

They have vegan cheese, vegan guacamole, are are really clued up on allergens. I had a lovely burrito, and it made a nicr change from living on Robinson's chips whist in Whitby!
