Best Japanese vegan food

Only place I’ve seen to have put in an effort into noting allergens.

Delicious

A non-veg friend and I got the Everything Course for dinner. It was absolutely delicious and memorable - I'm writing this review a few years later and still recall the meal.

Pros: Vegan desserts

Cons: Stomach is only so large

Ok.

I’ve definitely had better vegan food in Tokyo but it’s okay at a pinch. A bit expensive for what it was too.

Pros: All vegan food

Cons: Wraps

Great food, great price!

This was a lovely place to have a nice dinner - lots of types of food, mexican, spanish, karaage, soup etc. So many options, all very very nice. Plus try the special teas! They are great. Also do try the pancakes, so soft and light!

Good but expensive

We happened upon this location during an odd time, they were not serving lunch food but not yet for dinner either. They would serve drinks and dessert. The service was really slow! It was a little overpriced for what it was. We had already once been too Ripple it is definitely a different vibe completely. The pancake dessert we did order was yummy.

Pros: All vegan, Yummy food

Cons: Overpriced, Slow service

Pancakes from heaven!!

We came here twice just to get the pancakes again. We forgot to take a picture of them the first time around because they looked AND tasted so good!! Honestly, even if this place only served their pancakes, I'd want to come back again and again. They're fluffy and lightly sweet, served with ice cream (I loved the rum raisin), and a big dollop of vegan whipped cream, plus some nuts and fresh fruit. They're called "Heavenly Pancakes" for a reason, trust me.

Besides the pancakes, we also tried the green curry, kara-age (fried soymeat), omelette, wraps, and tiramisu over our two visits. All the food we ordered tasted really good, especially the kara-age, which was crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside! The omelette was also very light and fluffy, and one of the better vegan omelettes I've tried.

The place inside is rather small and a little dim, but it can be quite romantic in the evening (more-so the downstairs area). It is kind of expensive as well.

Please come here and at least try their pancakes. Even if that's your lunch, you won't regret it, besides being absolutely delicious they're also very filling!

Pros: pancakes, pancakes, PANCAKES!

Cons: quite expensive

Wrong owning hours

Showed up at 9:35, closed sign on and staff said closed, despite this app and the sign on their door saying last order 10 pm. Could improve their signage.

No.

Visited this restaurant and was asked if we had a reservation - we didn't & we were ushered upstairs to a table. As soon as the menu came I knew the food was going to be uninspiring. There was about 5 main dishes & pancakes & some basic looking deserts. I wasn't hungry after seeing the menu & actually wanted some veg Japanese food not some fried mock mince that looked like animal dung. My partner chose the curry. We ordered the waitress abruptly turned away & the woman who showed us the table (think she was the owner) told us very haughtily our rules are that both people need to order main dishes adding to this they had run out of 2 other main dishes rendering the menu even more lack lustre. Disgusting treatment of customers since the food was extremely over priced, salads were already made and covered in cling film as I saw when I walked in. Just for the sheer rudeness we promptly left. Learn some customer service. Treat customers with the respect they deserve instead of sneering with contempt - better improve your menu & make sure you have the ingredients to cover the basic dishes you are serving at prime time (dinner time) please & thanks.

AMAZING

I love love love this place! I had the vegan pancakes and they were super delicious!! Super rich, super yummy. I really wanted to have fluffy Japanese-style pancakes while in Tokyo, but was worried I wouldn’t be able to find a vegan version. Luckily Ain Soph Journey had me covered. Totally recommend!!

A must for the fluffy pancakes

All we wanted for breakfast in Japan was pancakes and this place hit the spot! Tucked away, it can be a little hard to spot but such tasty food.

Pros: All vegan , Amazing brunch

Cons: Had to wait an hour to be seated , Doesn’t open until 1130

Pancakes!

Big fat fluffy pancakes with vegan cream, ice cream and syrup, don't miss out, these are so good!

I've included a photo of desserts they sell in jars which we didn't try but looked amazing too.

They also sell little packets of yummy biscuits which are great to have in your bag for emergency vegan snacks or train trips.

This place was hard to find, until they put their sign board out and a queue formed. We were lucky to get a table as we went on a Saturday and most tables were pre-booked. Probably ok during the week but might be best to book in advance on weekends.

Mediocre at best

For our first night in Tokyo we decided to head to this restaurant. To be fair we were not aware of the closing time/last order policy in Japan so felt a bit rushed.
The food was perfectly edible but not worth the money. I am not a dessert person so didn’t try the pancakes that people rave on about.
It was ok but would not go back.

Pros: Close to where I was staying

Cons: Overpriced

very bad food!

we took the menus "all dishes" in 38000 yen per person. we expected some gourmet food... we got something that "fast food" is a complement for it... an unfresh salad, tomato soup from a can, 1/4 borito that tasted like it have been waiting in plastic since morning. 3 pinky small seitan nuggets and some yellow tofu they called "omlet". for dessert we got 3 slices of fruits an unbeatable dry slice of cake and coffee with no taste.
it all seem influenced from a bad Israeli kibbutz meals.
.
the 1st floor stinks from mald.
.
don't go there for this menue.

Pros: waitress was very nice and English speaking.

Cons: not fresh. expensive. bad value for money.

Delicious

We went there twice while being in Tokyo. I had the green curry and the rice with the mushroom sauce. It was really tasty. We also tried the sheese and the vegan cutlet which were great! I give 4 stars instead of 5 because it seems like a chain restaurant and they could be more creative. I've been to smaller restaurants that had more variety.

Pros: healthy, delicious

Cons: rather expensive

Last dinner

Came here on our last night in Tokyo - worth the journey to come and eat. Such a nice novelty to be able to order anything on the menu as a vegan in Japan. We tried the Messe plate, fake meat snack, and omelette.

Pros: Great variety of options , Friendly staff

Go for the pancakes

Its absolutely worth a visit for the pancakes! Order the heavenly pancakes and nothing else, you will be stuffed!
The pancakes are almost muffin like and served with ice-cream and fruits.
They really are amazing!

Rest of the food is ok but nothing special. Can be very busy so reservations are recommended.

Pros: Amazing pancakes!

Worth the price

Yes, the food here is fairly expensive but I couldn’t fault the food at all. I had a spinach curry which was really good (though maybe a tiny bit smaller than I’d like.) My partner had the waffles which were 10/10 absolutely amazing. Try them! I also had a soy ice coffee which was great to pep me up for the rest of the day. It’s very good to have vegan options in Tokyo. I’d go back for sure.

Pros: Waffles on point, Vegan options in Japan

Cons: Expensive, Small dining area

Average food and atmosphere

Basement level smelled strongly of damp and mould. Food was very basic and bland. Curry dish consisted of rice and sauce, with no discernible vegetables. Too expensive for size and quality of meal.
