Rainbow Ramen

Take a ticket from the ticket machine and here we go!!!
Veggies were cut kinda thin so it was challenging to eat em with chopsticks.

Pros: Clear Declaration at ticket machine, Free Water refill, Cute Spoons

Cons: Can be crowded, Sold Out at my first try to eat there.

Was out of vegan ramen

I'm glad this place has vegan ramen, because every ramen place should just do vegan ramen but I'd be really hesitant to go back, unless I have a bunch of time to kill and I'm not really that hungry. Took us a while to find it in the downstairs mall and then they were out of vegan ramen when we got there.

Cons: One vegan option, Runs out

Very good Ramen

Great vegan ramen. Very tasty and beautifully presented. Place your order at the machine, take your receipt and wait your turn. There was a pretty long queue but it moved quickly. We initially thought the venue was cash only but you can also use a credit card. Location is in the food court at basement level 2 in Lumine Centre/Dept Store.

Pros: Vibrant atmosphere

Cons: Long queue

Decent Ramen

A bit pricey but tasted pretty good! It would be great if there were more options, such as with mock meat.

Pros: Lots of fresh vegetables

Cons: Expensive, Only 1 vegetarian/vegan option

Delicious but not cheap!

I knew coming that it would be a lil pricey, and was nervous it would either be small portion or just not worth the cost, but it was! The ramen was filled with colourful veggies (hence ‘rainbow’ ramen) and tasted amazing! Clear what the vegan options are and easy to order through ticket machine. Would definitely come back! Worth the price😄

Pros: Yum!, Nice atmosphere

Cons: On the spendy side

Great ramen, very expensive

Located in what seems to be a pretty expensive mall area, the ramen was also pricey. It was delicious though and clearly marked on the ordering machine.

Great

I thought the portion of the ramen was quite large for myself. It tasted amazing, one of the nicest ramens I’ve had. The servers were very polite😄

Okay ramen

It was my first vegan ramen experience in Japan and it was okay. When you are close to the park it is a good place to go when you are hungry but personally I prefer a thick miso broth. The veggies were fresh but not overly delicious. So for filling up your belly it is totally fine.

Pros: Near Yoyogi Park, Okay for a quick ramen fix

Cons: Broth is a bit lame, Not enough toppings

Not worth it

Basically $15 for a relatively small serving of unremarkable ramen in a pretty bland broth. Maybe ok in a pinch, if you can get a seat, but otherwise give it a miss.

If you want a more impressive & immersive vegan ramen experience in this area, walk over to Shinjuku Gyoen Ouka. Prix fixe e.g. somewhat expensive, but it's a far superior vegan ramen outing.

I really like afuri’s vegan ramen! Not too heavy. Lots of vegetables. Tasty light broth. I eat here maybe once a month!

Don’t go here if you’re looking for traditional vegan ramen

The vegan ramen option here was odd. It had sun dried tomatoes and basil in it which made the taste more like Italian pasta. Not a place to try vegan traditional ramen.

Pros: Fast if no line

Cons: Only 1 vegan option, Expensive, Ramen flavour was more Italian than Japanese

decent vegan ramen

The vegan ramen was fair. I was glad there was a vegan ramen option in Shinjuku Station. If you're there and hungry, get it! But it's not worthy of being a destination you plan around.

Pros: vegan ramen option, affordable

'vegan tax' and lacking flavour

My ramen was 400 yen more expensive than my partner's non vegan ramen. The broth also lacked any seasoning. There are far better vegan ramen options in the area in my opinion.

Pros: Convenient

Cons: Over priced, 'Vegan tax' , Lacking flavour

Great healthy ramen!

I personally loved this ramen, it didn't have the usual heaviness or depth in the broth like other ramen joints, but it still had a real kick of flavour and the veggies/toppings were delicious!
The dish is also affordable, and convenient in location and opening times.

Pros: really tasty light ramen, great location

Cons: the only vegan dish on the menu
