Serves meat, vegan options available. A small higher-end veg-centric restaurant uses local ingredients. Has a 4 and 7 course tasting menu that can be happily made vegan. Menu in the summer is especially veggie-heavy. Has own garden.
AMAZING food and dining experience. This was by far the best meal I have had in a long time. Each course was so well thought out... I was served fermented apple, handmade bread, baked whole cauliflower, marinated grilled tempeh, potatoes, and doughnuts! Many of the veggies were sourced locally and were bursting with flavour, cooked perfectly. In front of us one of the chefs made food and drink over the fire pit (cider with pine oil, roasted potato) which was so fun to watch. You need to order ahead for vegan but the chefs are very accommodating, they even made a handmade vegan doughnut with a berry sauce for me for the desert. The service is incredible here too, and the plating and decor is beautiful. I highly highly recommend, everyone who can come to Actinolite (or order in, my dad also said he has tried ordering in and it was just as incredible) definitely needs to!!! I would give 6 stars if I could.
If you are looking for a high end end vegan dining experience this is it. The chef walks you through where he sourced all of the ingredients and the food is super unique and delicious.
When I mentioned that I am vegan, when making the reservation, they were happy to accommodate me. I could have either a 4 course or 7 course tasting menu. The service was very good, friendly and helpful. I have been twice. The first time was excellent. The second time was unbelievable, one of the best meals that I have ever had, vegan or not. The dishes are locavore, and so in summer and, I expect, fall, are very vegetable centric. Healthy and amazing. Unique. Dishes that I have never had before. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Make sure they know on booking if you don't eat honey because their bread has honey in it.
