Incredible vegan haute cuisine - Edit
Honestly the best vegan food I ever had - certainly in terms of taste variety, intensity and composition. Everything went really well together and was complimented perfectly by the drinks. I have not had such great pairings ever since I became vegan. Simply amazing! And incredible value for money, too!

Ivm corona geen normaal menu, maar een diner proeverij. Vooraf een borrelplank. Daarna de proeverij, erg lekker allemaal! Dessert met cappuccino genomen. Ook al top! Echt een aanrader!!!

Interesting location at the back of the building but we were welcomed by the very friendly staff in a cosy interior where we had an amazing romantic fine dining dinner. We endulged the surprise menu with original and tasty vegan fine cruise. They advertise as 5 course but we got even 2 additional amuses, a selection of breads and a sorbet.

Bonus for us was that you could choose the wine pairing with half full glasses. We were both a bit tired and not in the mood for too much alcohol so this was perfect. They also had a version with non-alcoholic drinks.

This place is just awesome! The menu was perfectly fitted with the drinks, we had one menu with alcoholic drinks and the other one with non alcoholic drinks. Every course was great and next time I’m in Groningen I will come for sure!

Best vegan food I've ever had - Edit
I held a dinner with about 30 people here to celebrate my PhD graduation. Many non vegans attended (including big meat eating professors) so I wanted to find a place that showed them that vegans really do eat more than carrots and humus. And oh myyy it worked! Literally every single one person was flabbergasted. The food was perfect!! And the place is super cozy. Worth every penny!

They were not joking when they said that they were serious about food. I ordered the 5 course surprise menu and my oh my was I beyond pleased. It was worth every penny and more. I thought that the courses would have been in ridiculously small portions but I left the restaurant happy and very full.

Read moreThis is an Innovative, cozy and fine vegan cuisine experience. The food is absolutely delicious with lots of textures, flavour combinations, and colours. Lots of amazing wines to go with the suprise menu (which is also great as they decrease food waste).
Achterwerk gives a personal service with experienced staff that are passionate and friendly. Knowledge of the staff and service is perfect. Not to mention the location is super cool and the interior design very friendly and comforting.
The only place I have ever been where you can have a proper romantic fine cuisine experience as a vegan. Finally a top dining experience.

Verborgen plekje in het centrum maar oh zo leuk. Heerlijk eten. Hele bijzondere gerechten. Allemaal vegan en heerlijke wijntjes daarbij.
Read moreWij kozen een 3 gangen diner ivm tijd. Anders hadden we 4 of 5 genomen. Helaas moesten we toch snel het toetje eten op het eind. Dus neem vooral de tijd en plan niets direct erachteraan.
Er is zelfs een non alcohol wijn arrangement. Lieve bediening ook en lekkere tussengerechten. Wij zaten echt bomvol.

This restaurant serves the best vegan food in Groningen, hands down. The restaurant serves all vegan 3, 4 or 5 course surprise menu’s, with nice extra’s in between courses. Super attentive young staff and an enthusiastic, creative chef who never ceases to surprise! Great (natural) wines and cocktails go accompany the menu too!

Wij hadden huisgemaakte ijsthee en die was heel lekker en werd leuk geserveerd. Het eten was ook heel smakelijk hoewel de kaart wat onduidelijk is met betrekking tot hoofd of bijgerechten. Zeker aan te raden. Bediening was erg vriendelijk maar had iets meer uitleg kunnen geven over het concept voorafgaand aan de bestelling. Gaf wel goede uitleg tijdens het uitserveren.
